According to foreign media Bourse Direct, French mathematician Laurent Lafforgue, winner of the Fields Medal, the highest prize in mathematics, will join the Huawei team to carry out mathematical research at Huawei.
It is understood that Lafog has cooperated with Huawei since 2017, and after completing a 2-year study of topology theory, he held a lecture on Algebraic Geometry in 2019.
Lafog won two silver medals in the 1984 and 1985 International Mathematical Olympiads and is currently a senior researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research. In 2002, at the 24th International Congress of Mathematicians in China, Lafougher received the Fields Medal, the highest prize in mathematics, for his contributions to number theory and algebraic geometry.
