Red Treasure: Entering the Red Pavilion to Study Party History (14) |" Guardian of the Sea and Air", Wang Wei, an immortal monument over the South China Sea

In the Phoenix Park next to the Feifeng Bridge in Huzhou, Zhejiang, there is a monument. The figures on the monument wearing flight suits and flying helmets stand under the red flag, looking up at the sky, looking at the sea and air of the motherland, and the mighty heroic posture reveals the style of not being afraid of danger. He is Wang Wei, the "Guardian of the Sea and Air."

On 1 April 2001, a US reconnaissance plane violated China's territorial airspace in the South China Sea, and our army dispatched two planes to follow and intercept them; the US plane suddenly crashed into our army's fighter plane, and Wang Wei, former commander of a certain regiment of the South China Sea Fleet Aviation Corps, was forced to parachute into the sea and died heroically.

For 20 years, every year on April 1, the number "81192" will be swiped, which is the number of the J-8II fighter piloted by Wang Wei before his death. In this issue of the Red Pavilion visit, we came to Huzhou, Wang Wei's hometown, to listen to the glorious deeds of Wang Wei's martyrs and learn the patriotic spirit of heroic soldiers.

15 years of flying career

He kept writing "First"

"Starting from a young age and soaring above the blue sky is Wang Wei's greatest pursuit in life." Zhong Shuying, a staff member of Phoenix Street, said that Wang Wei's eldest aunt, eldest uncle, and second uncle are all soldiers, and the sons of the two aunts are pilots.

In the spring of 1986, the Air Force Flight Academy came to Huzhou to recruit a flight, and this news made Wang Wei excited. The childhood dream was in front of him, and he could not wait to sign up and solemnly signed the word "Wang Wei" on the volunteer form. In the end, Wang Wei became the only student in Huzhou No. 4 Middle School to be selected by the Air Force.

After entering the Air Force Aviation School, he studied hard and obtained a diploma with excellent grades in his homework and obtained a military bachelor's degree. In June 1991, when Wang Wei graduated from an aviation school of the Air Force, he took the initiative to ask to work in the Navy. When choosing where to go, he resolutely proposed to go to the end of the world to guard the southern gate of the motherland.

Wang Wei was the only child in the family, and relatives and friends hoped that he would work in Shanghai, Hangzhou or Changzhou, which was closer to his hometown. In the face of persuasion, although Wang Wei also hoped to fulfill more filial piety, his original intention did not change: "A good life is everyone's yearning, but someone must always make sacrifices." For me, the needs of the motherland are always the only option. ”

The most unique thing about naval aviation is the flying sea subject. Sea flight is different from land, the vast sea, a blue, no landmarks, no references, a long time, the sky and the sea are the same, and then do a few actions, you can't tell which is the sky, which is the sea. As a young pilot, after arriving in the army, he studied flight technology assiduously, no matter what kind of fighter he flew, he could do hard training on the ground, fly fine in the air, and every flight assessment was excellent. In just a few years, he became a proud son of the sea and sky guarding the southern gate of the motherland.

How good is Wang Wei? In his 15-year flying career, Wang Wei has continuously written one "first" after another: Among the students of the same period of the Flight Academy, he was the first to fly alone and soared into the blue sky; among the same batch of pilots, he was the first to fly for 1,000 hours and became an "all-weather" first-class pilot who could fly 4 kinds of weather; among pilots of the same age, he took off in battle the most times and performed the most major tasks; in the three equipment updates of the flight unit, he was the first to undertake combat readiness duty tasks each time...

First-time public application for membership in the Party

He replied with action to that oath

This year, 20 years after Wang Wei's death, his application to join the party was made public for the first time.

The application for joining the party was written in 1988, and the 20-year-old wrote: "I hope to join the party organization, not to gain some 'political capital', nor to get promoted and rich, I just want to be a party member to strictly demand myself, to contribute everything and even my life to the interests of the party and the people." ”

A vow, Wang Wei used his life to answer.

At 8:36 a.m. on April 1, 2001, a battle siren suddenly sounded, and Wang Wei, who was on combat duty, and Zhao Yu, the pilot, sprinted toward the fighter plane like a 100-meter sprint to take off, ascending altitude, adjusting the course, forming in the air, and flying toward the target... The war eagle looked up and stabbed straight into the sea and sky.

A few minutes later, Wang Wei and Zhao Yu noticed a large plane in front of them on the left. They approached the target and quickly determined that it was an AMERICAN EP-3 military electronic reconnaissance plane, which was approaching the sea off Sanya on Hainan Island. Wang Wei and Zhao Yu quickly adjusted their course and flew the WarHawk at the same speed as the US plane.

Prior to this, these uninvited passengers had already violated China's territorial airspace on many occasions, and Wang Wei and Zhao Yu were also familiar with the tricks of the US military reconnaissance plane: taking advantage of the differences in the performance of the aircraft of the two sides, especially taking advantage of the reconnaissance plane's superiority in low-speed flight, suddenly changing tricks, such as "slowing down the speed" and "flying by the clouds," in an attempt to get rid of our plane's tracking, and sometimes they often went up and down, suddenly turning the slope left and right, and provoking our pilots.

This time, Wang Wei and Zhao Yu were still calm and calm, and they flew in a smooth formation on the side of Hainan Island, while the US EP-3 aircraft was outside. After flying for a while, suddenly, the US plane turned in a big move and crashed into Wang Wei's plane! The outer propeller of the left wing of the US plane smashed the vertical tail of the plane piloted by Wang Wei into pieces. Wang Wei's fighter plane rolled down to the right and fell swooping down.

At this time, from the tumbling and falling plane, Wang Wei's calm report was still heard: "The aircraft has failed to control." Wang Wei continued to fly the fighter plane, which was completely out of control. 1 second, 2 seconds ,...... 8 seconds, 9 seconds... Wang Wei, who had put his personal life and death aside, and the fallen fighter rolled in the air, and he was using his flesh and blood to make a final sprint to rescue the fighter.

"Call 81192, here is 553, I have been ordered to take over the cruise mission of your plane, please return!"

"81192 received, I can no longer return, you continue to move forward, you continue to move forward!"

A few words became Wang Wei's last call record. An umbrella flower bloomed in the vast South China Sea, and the warplane pounced on the sea tragically.

Subsequently, 100,000 soldiers and civilians searched for a full 14 days and nights, repeatedly searching for the whereabouts of Wang Wei, the pilot who fell into the sea, but failed to find the hero back. On April 24, 2001, the Central Military Commission posthumously awarded Comrade Wang Wei the honorary title of "Guardian of the Sea and Air", the first-class heroic model medal and the honorary certificate.

"As of March 31, 2001, he had flown safely for 1,152 hours and 6 minutes, taking off more than 2,000 sorties." On the flight log of a certain flight group, Wang Wei's glitter track was recorded. However, after April 1, 2001, this flight log has not been updated.

On that day, Wang Wei drove a fighter plane that was not advanced, and drank the enemy at the cost of his life; on that day, Wang Wei told the world with his actions that in the face of defending territorial sovereignty integrity and national dignity, he never "took a step back from the sea and the sky"; on that day, Wang Wei flew the last voyage of his life.

Wu Yuantong, a child in the experimental kindergarten of Huzhou Development Zone, painted a portrait of Wang Wei, she said: "Our happy life is a hero who exchanges his life for it. I want to follow Uncle Wang Wei's example and learn from his great ambitions from an early age. ”

Hou Shuilong, secretary of the Party Committee of Fenghuang Street, said: "Patriotism is not empty, but concrete, just as Wang Wei sacrificed his young life to defend China's national sovereignty and security, at present, we must also draw strength from the patriotic spirit and strive forward on all fronts and all walks of life." ”

"After so many years, the statue of Wang Wei on the monument is still like that, with a high nose and big eyes, and he looks really handsome." Alas, he left at the age of 33. 20 years ago, when sorting out Wang Wei's relics, comrades-in-arms found an oil painting hand-painted by Wang Wei called "Long-cherished Wish". In the picture, a pilot is flying a carrier-based aircraft from the aircraft carrier.

The best way to remember history is struggle. Today, Wang Wei's long-cherished wish has become a reality: the Liaoning and Shandong warships have been officially listed, and China has officially entered the era of dual aircraft carriers; the mass delivery of carrier-based fighter jets; and the successful launch of domestically produced 10,000-ton destroyers... This year, the People's Navy has been established for 72 years, and the People's Navy in the new era is constantly moving towards the deep blue and is forging ahead in the great journey of building a world-class navy in an all-round way.
