The masson pine caterpillar is one of the most serious pests that harm pine forests, and it can also bring people caterpillar disease. Yunxi County has an existing forest area of 4.3 million mu, of which more than 600,000 mu are masson pine forests. Monitoring found that a large area of Masson pine caterpillaria occurred in the pure forests of Masson Pine in Chengguan Town, Guanyin Town, the state-owned Liuguanping Forest Farm and shejiawan Forest Farm. At present, it is the binge eating period of pine caterpillar larvae, and Yunxi County has seized the golden period of disease and pest control and increased the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests.

The person in charge of the Natural Resources and Planning Bureau of Yunxi County said that by purchasing prevention and control services from the society, the professional drone team of Hubei BoxYuanfeng Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was invited to spray and control the forest. "Compared with traditional manual operations, the efficiency of plant protection UAVs can be increased by more than 20 times, and a UAV can complete more than 1,000 acres of operations a day on average."

Compared with the traditional artificial plant protection method, UAV plant protection is sprayed uniformly, the accuracy is higher, the spraying range is wider, and the speed is faster, which not only greatly reduces the amount of labor, easily solves the problem of artificial spraying and fertilization, and the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests is more economical, safe and efficient. Up to now, Yunxi County has accumulated more than 30,000 acres of pine caterpillars, effectively curbing the harm and spread of pine caterpillars.
