Lepidoptera Hammerhorn suborder Butterflies of the family Vanessa Fabricius, 14 species have been recorded worldwide, distributed in the Paleobei, Eastern And North America. There are two species in Chinese accounts: "Great Red Butterfly" and "Little Red Butterfly". The genus is a medium-sized butterfly.
It took many years for the author to take ecological photos of the genus butterfly. After compiling its graphics and text, it is published on the "Today's Headlines" on January 28, 2020 to feed readers.

Adult ecology: Adult insects appear from April to October. Commonly found in mountains and gardens. Visit flowers, suck sap, rotten fruit, etc. Fly fast.

2. Little Red Butterfly
Species: Vanessa cardui (Linnaeus, 1758)
Distribution area: Widely distributed in the world, only South America has not yet been found. It is widely distributed in all districts and counties of Beijing.
Host plants: More than 100 species: Boehmeria nivea in the family Nettleidae;
(Malva cathayensis) and Asteraceae Broadleaf Sage [/Gnaphalium.]
adnatum) and so on.
Adult ecology: Adults appear from May to October. This species of butterfly has the ability to migrate over long distances. Commonly found in mountains and gardens. It sucks nectar on flowers with many plants, especially Asteraceae. Fly fast.

Third, the difference between species
1. Butterfly hindwing frontal comparison: (see illustration)
The hindwing front of the butterfly is largely tanned with orange-red bands on the outer margins with black spots embedded in the bands.
The front of the hindwings of the little red butterfly: the light orange base is covered with irregular markings.
2. Butterfly hindwing reverse comparison: (see illustration)
The opposite side of the hindwings of the great red butterfly: the "eye-like spots" at the outer edge are concave, showing a "peach-shaped" or "heart-shaped" shape.
The opposite side of the hindwings of the little red butterfly: the "eye-like spots" at the outer edge are rounded.
