Basal spotted dragonfly, is a dragonfly in the genus Dragonfly in the family Dragonfly, mainly distributed in southern Britain and Wales in Europe, with high-speed flight ability, mostly inhabiting calm lakes and ponds, and will prey on a variety of small insects, such as mosquitoes, flies and so on.
The basal spotted dragonfly is about 7 cm long and has a flattened and broad abdomen, the female has a brown belly with two yellow bands, and the male basal spotted dragonfly has a light cyan abdomen.
