Some people say that Zhang Yixing is the little pride of Hunan, then this is the big treasure of Sichuan, because it is really big, he is the Sichuan dragon, and there don't seem to be many dinosaurs named after a province, so we can say that it is the great pride of Sichuan.

Gan's Sichuan dragon is a medium-sized allosaur. It bears a striking resemblance to allosaurus excavated in North America. It was a highly equipped and fierce predator wandering in the Sichuan Basin in the late Jurassic Period. The expedition passed by a Catholic monk, R. With the assistance of mertens, the fossil site was found 1.2 kilometers north of Ningjiagou in Mengyin County. They invited Zdansky to come here the following year to carry out the mining work.
The height of the crown is about 2.5 times the width of the crown. The front teeth are convex and the leading edge is deeply serrated, reaching the base of the crown and bending strongly towards the tongue surface. The remaining teeth are flattened, about 2/3 the thickness of the width, and the degree to which the leading edge serrations bend towards the tongue surface varies. The serrations on the leading edge of all teeth are thinner and denser than the serrations on the posterior edge. The anterior cervical vertebrae are relatively long, weakly concave, and the nerve spines are low and elongated anteriorly. The length of the posterior cervical vertebrae is significantly shortened, only about 2/3 of the length of the anterior cervical spine, and there is a lateral concave immediately after the parapresis. The dorsal vertebrae are bipended, with thick longitudinal stripes on the sides of the vertebral body. The long bones are poorly hollowed out, and even some of the limb bones are completely hollow.
The beak is nearly oval in outline and has a nodular ridge near the middle of the posterior lateral side. The humeral triangular ridge is not particularly developed. There is a developing sciatic process at the proximal end of the sciatic bone, and the distal end is dilated anteroposteriorly. The small nodules of the femur are low, plate-shaped, obliquely anterior and outward.
There are two named species under the species taxonomy Sichuan dragon: the model species S. Gan's Sichuan dragon (S. campi) and Zigong Sichuan Dragon (S. zigongensis)。 The Gan Sichuan Dragon was named by Yang Zhongjian in 1942 based on some bones and some teeth; the Zigong Sichuan Dragon was named by Gao in 1993 based on almost complete bones. Some paleontologists believe that Sichuanosaurus is a dubious name because, although those teeth are unique, other skeletons may belong to other genera. Salt capital Sichuan dragon (S. Yandonensis) and Chienkosaurus ceratosauroides have also been reclassified as Gan's Sichuan dragons, but some scholars have pointed out that Jiange dragons are actually a separate species.
