Control of rice leafminer flies

author:China Agricultural Information Network

Rice leafminer flies are mainly hosts on rice and some grasses, and are distributed in areas where rice is grown in China. Its larvae submerge on leaf flesh, causing rice leaves to turn yellow, dry or decay, and when severe, the whole plant dies, which has a greater impact on the growth and yield of rice. So how to control rice leafminer flies?

First of all, strengthen field management, remove weeds from rice fields in time, and control the parasitism of insect eggs. Secondly, shallow water irrigation is adopted to avoid deep water floating seedlings and submerged seedlings, which can reduce the amount of eggs dropped by leaf-diving flies; Severe plots can be drained and dried. Appropriate use of natural enemies again, such as ladybirds, spiders, etc., and finally spray 2.5% cypermethrin emulsion 2500 times liquid, 10% imidacloprid wettable powder 2500 times liquid for pharmaceutical control.
