Beasts of prey are hard to defend!
BC's blessed natural beauty is enchanting, but it's accompanied by the possibility of encountering a variety of wildlife, even some extremely aggressive and dangerous beasts, at any time!
On Monday, the 25th, a 69-year-old man was attacked by a mountain lion (Congar) near Whistler, almost causing the tragedy of the beast injuring and killing people!
At about 3:30 p.m. on the 25th, a 69-year-old man was outside his villa in Soo Valley, about 150 kilometers north of Vancouver, when he suddenly encountered a mountain lion head-on without any defense!
This huge mountain lion somehow beastly, roared and pounced directly on the old man, fiercely biting his face, arms, hands... It seems to have made the old man his own delicious prey!
Just as the victim was covered in blood and unable to cope, whistler police rushed to the scene on hearing the news. Watching the cougar bite wildly in front of his eyes, the police officer who was also in danger did not hesitate at all, and saw the opportunity to shoot and kill the beast!
The dying old man was then taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. He had severe tear wounds on his face and hands, but fortunately he was rescued and saved his life!
Police said such mountain lion attacks are rare and are likely to be very hungry and in need of forage before they take the initiative to attack humans.
However, mountain lions are widespread throughout B.C. and do not need to hibernate like bears, and can haunt the jungles of the mountains or even cities in any season!
The previous spring, Zack, a 7-year-old boy on Vancouver Island, was playing in his backyard when he was suddenly bitten by two cougars that rushed in!
When his mother, Chelsea, who heard the screams, found him, the little boy's neck had been held in the mouth by the mountain lion, and his body was torn and bloodied in many places, pierced by the sharp teeth of the beast, and almost lost his life;
In order to save their son, Chelsea burst out all his strength, struggling to fight the beast to the death, and was not cowardly after being bitten in multiple places, which finally made the two cougars scare off. Mother and son were then sent to first aid, barely escaping from danger to their lives!
At the end of 18 years, there was also an incident of mountain lions attacking boys in Cascade Falls Park, Misson Net Red Park in BC Province. An adult and a number of children walking in the woods, originally walking well on the daily trail, suddenly out of the jungle a cougar suddenly sprang up, violently biting the arm of a 2-year-old boy!
Amid the little boy's heart-rending cries, the surrounding crowd joined forces to repel the attacking cougar. However, the boy's back and arm were scratched by the claws of the beast, and one arm was bitten into a puncture wound, I don't know how much psychological shadow was left...
On Christmas Eve last year, a family in North Vancouver actually photographed the figure of a cougar in front of their home, and they were scared out of a cold sweat!
Fortunately, this mountain lion left silently after staying for a while without finding food, and did not seem to meet any passers-by, otherwise the consequences would be unimaginable!
Not to mention that a few years earlier, at the Sky Station in Port Moody, two cougars had walked on the tracks in the early hours of the morning, which made the citizens who ride here every day panic...
According to Wild Safe BC, about 2,500 calls a year are made to report people encountering mountain lions. Although some of these reports mistook other beasts for mountain lions, they had to be vigilant!
Although the official information emphasizes that mountain lions rarely take the initiative to attack, if you encounter a mountain lion, remember not to turn around and scream and run, but try to be as large as possible, maintain a certain distance and eye contact, speak loudly and calmly and slowly retreat, waiting for the opportunity to find rescue.
