Tourism can broaden people's horizons, build social connections, develop the economy and even promote social progress. Luis Maroto is an industry pioneer in this view. He is President and CEO of Amadeus, a company whose philosophy is to be a driving force in the travel industry. At present, Amadeus has become one of the largest airline reservation systems in the world, with a market share of about 27%.

A Spaniard, Marto graduated from the University of Madrid, the oldest, largest and most comprehensive university in Spain. He holds a law degree from the University of Comptons, an MBA from the IESE School of Business, and a master's degree from Harvard Business School and Stanford University. He joined Amadeus in 2000 and has been one of the company's leading strategists.

In 2003, Marto was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Amadeus, Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2009 and Chief Executive Officer in 2011. Marto said: "I'm not someone who brings in from outside the company. I've risen through the ranks internally, and I know the corporate structure well, both from a human and business perspective, which makes it easy for me to do my work. ”

Amadeus' philosophy is to help companies connect closely with the travel system, create new opportunities for business travel, and promote cooperation between companies and tourism-related institutions. Marto believes that the current top priority of the tourism industry is to reduce cumbersome obstacles such as visa procedures. He wants the company to improve people's travel experience through deep partnerships with airports, airlines, travel agencies and technology companies. The Amadeus system helps travel agents or ticket agents quickly calculate complex itineraries and obtain guaranteed fare information, as well as booking, changing, refunding, and more, all within minutes.

Marto believes that complicated and troublesome procedures have hindered the development of global tourism. Some media outlets argue that only Matto is qualified to say so, as Amadeus under his leadership has been committed to transaction processing in the global travel sector and providing solutions for related industries through advanced technology. "The tourism industry is very large, and technology research and development is a very important part." Marto said.

It is reported that the huge investment in research and development work is a major reason why Amadeus is far ahead of the industry. Amadeus spends close to €2 million a day on innovation and has 19 R&D sites around the world. "We have been investing in innovative technologies to provide solutions to our customers in all sectors of the travel industry," Said Marto. He believes that no company in the world can meet everything that customers need, so it is necessary to work as much as possible with companies, agents and experts in the relevant field to make the solution really marketable.
