On August 6, 2021, Sun Limei, secretary of the party branch of Guxian Village, Songshan Subdistrict, Xiapu County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, was in the fight against typhoon "Lu Bi", in order to eliminate potential safety hazards and protect the safety of people's property, regardless of personal safety, when dredging the culvert blocked by debris, she was unfortunately swept away by floods and silt, and died in the line of duty, at the age of 44.

Sun Limei, who served as the secretary of the party branch of Guxian Village in 2018, promoted the implementation of high-standard farmland water-saving irrigation projects, mobilized party members and rich and capable people in the village to set up cooperatives and build vegetable cold storage to solve the problems of difficulty in vegetable sales and storage; contacted Xiapu Yacheng and Fuzhou Changle, Lianjiang and other places, rented more than 6,000 mu of idle farmland to develop the "enclave economy", and introduced more than 100 villagers to work, with a per capita monthly income of 6,000 to 7,000 yuan.
Yang Zhaoke, a 73-year-old villager, said that the water-saving irrigation project has solved the problem of insufficient water and no water available on dry days, which is much more convenient and the harvest has also gone up.
Yang Zhaoke is physically disabled, the eldest son has mental illness, and the wife and younger son are unable to engage in manual labor, which is a double-disabled family. To this end, Sun Limei applied for a disability certificate for Yang Zhaoke's eldest son, applied for five insurance households, and ensured daily life and medical and drug expenses; arranged a public welfare post for a ranger for her younger son; and applied for a total of 43,000 yuan for Yang Zhaoke's housing repair funds, disabled entrepreneurship funds, and industrial poverty alleviation and development funds.
"With the guidance and help of Secretary Ami, I planted 2 acres of rice, vegetables, peanuts and corn, and my annual income was more than 20,000 yuan." Yang Zhaoke said.

While helping villagers increase production and income, Sun Limei did not forget to solve the problem of villagers' difficulty in sales. At the beginning of 2020, due to the epidemic prevention and control period, Guxian Village implemented strict traffic control. From the end of October to April of the following year, the cauliflower sales period is held, when 3,000 tons of cauliflower are facing the risk of slow sales, and the market value is about 10 million yuan.
Villager Sun Chaoan said that Secretary Sun Limei obtained vehicle passes through the docking county agricultural and rural bureau, connected with merchants to open up sales channels, and arranged for the priority sale of agricultural products from poor households, so as to minimize the losses of vegetable farmers.
According to statistics, in the past three years, Sun Limei has strived for more than 3 million yuan of funds for high-standard farmland projects, carried out water conservancy restoration and farmland transformation, promoted crop production and income increase, and increased the average annual income of villagers from 18,000 yuan to 24,000 yuan; and strived for funds of 270,000 yuan to build new villagers' fitness activity venues and improve party and mass activity venues, enriching the villagers' cultural and leisure life... The landing of one by one people's livelihood has changed the old appearance of Guxian Village.
2021 is the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the key year for consolidating the effective connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. On July 12 this year, Fan Lili came to Guxian Village as the first secretary of the sixth batch of villages sent by the province, and just a few days before Sun Limei's death, they were still discussing the development plan of the village.
"Secretary Limei said that we have a rich cultural heritage and superior geographical conditions, so we must discuss it well, dig out all these good things, and let the people also earn money for tourism and eat meals that are not hard." Fan Lili said.
Excavate the historical and cultural heritage of "Wenma Chuantun", strive to include agricultural protection land in the adjustment of national land spatial planning, increase the indicators of construction land, develop more than 100 mu of wasteland in Houshan, build food processing projects, and strive to harden the only 200-meter loess road left in the village before the end of the year... Nowadays, these ideas have become Sun Limei's unfulfilled long-cherished wishes.
"She will never forget that she 'always has the masses in her heart, and the land under her feet in her eyes.'" Fan Lili said that she will take the "Limei Spirit" as the guide, take over her baton, build the ancient county village into a better place, complete the unfinished vision of Secretary Limei, and let the villagers live a happier life.
On the 30th, Ningde City held a symposium to study comrade Sun Limei's advanced deeds, and guided the city's party members and cadres to take Comrade Sun Limei as an example, benchmark advanced, learn advanced, and strive to be advanced.
