Bayani Garin, a 25-year-old girl from Xinjiang, was the women's team sprint (freestyle) champion in the open cross-country skiing category at the 14th National Winter Games last year. At the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chinese team composed of her, Chi Chunxue, Li Xin and Ma Qinghua won the tenth place in the women's cross-country skiing 4×5km relay competition, setting a new record for the Chinese team in this small event in the Winter Olympics.
Veteran Chi Chunxue finished third in 12:17.5, having competed at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and the Beijing Winter Olympics, as well as winning the women's double pursuit and women's 4×5km relay at the 14th National Winter Games.
