Hello everyone, I'm Daddy~
My friend Xiao Nan complained to me:
Since the child enters the kindergarten stage, the family is becoming more and more "unable to stay".
Every day when I get home from school, I don't care about eating, and I don't want to study, so I clamoring to go downstairs to play crazy, and I can't stop it at all.
Xiao Nan said that according to this trend, the mediocrity of his son is already vaguely visible.
In fact, the current environment is indeed very volatile, and parents' worries and anxieties can be understood.
But no matter how nervous you are, you can't put a red cross on the test papers of his life just because the child is playful and likes to wander around.
After all, there is no essential relationship between playfulness and whether it is mediocre or not, and whether it will be productive in the future.
It is even said that those children who can't stay at home are still growing up, and they will slowly develop 3 obvious advantages, and the more they grow up, the more promising they are.
If not, let's take a look at an interesting experimental study.
Back in the 60s, under the leadership of child psychologist Bloom, United States began an experiment called the Perry Preschool Research Program.
They selected 123 children aged 3 to 4 from poor black families.
These children have similar characteristics, such as parents who are not educated, live in the same area, have an IQ of 60-90, and will go to the same kindergarten or school in the future.
The experimenters divided the children into two groups, one was the experimental group, a total of 58 children, and they were given preschool education and home visits.
It is worth noting that the so-called preschool education here is not a traditional education method related to learning knowledge, but encourages children to play spontaneously.
The other group was the control group, with a total of 65 children, without any intervention.
After 40 years of continuous tracking, the researchers came to a conclusion.
They found that the children in the experimental group developed intellectually faster, and when they grew up, the proportion of education, income, and housing ownership was much higher than that of the control group.
Therefore, this experiment also fully demonstrates:
The early education model of blindly instilling knowledge in children does not allow them to embrace a better future, but makes it easier for children to fully release their natural instincts at an age when they should be playing and running.
In fact, the reason why this is the case is because in the process of playing, children will slowly appear in their bodies with 3 obvious advantages.
(1) Receive more stimulation and have a higher IQ
Children who are playful and can't stay at home are often able to receive more stimulation, and these often have a positive impact on brain development and potential stimulation.
Harvard University professor John Reddy, in the book "Exercise Transforms the Brain", clearly stated:
When children play and exercise like crazy, the body secretes more BDNF, a protein known as "brain-derived neurotrophic factor", which is a very high-quality nutrient for the brain.
Therefore, we usually find that those children who like to play tend to have more flexible brains, whether it is memory or learning, they have certain advantages.
And the reason why this is so is because it is influenced by the protein BDNF.
(2) Greater ability to adapt to and solve various situations
I would like to ask you first: why are the flowers in the greenhouse easy to wither if you change the environment?
In fact, the reason is very simple, that is, because it grew up in a well-cared for environment, has not experienced wind and rain, once it leaves the original comfort zone, the problem of weak survival ability will be infinitely magnified.
In fact, it is the same for children.
Children who run and play outside a lot have a lot of exposure to all kinds of things and unexpected situations.
Over time, they can not only learn from the surrounding environment, but also rely on their own experience to summarize and accumulate some valuable experience, so as to establish a foundation for adapting to the environment and solving problems in the subsequent growth process.
(3) Stronger creativity
Some people on the Internet say that creativity is a "shortcut" to success, no matter when.
I think so.
For example, "crows drink water" in primary school textbooks, as well as Cao Cao's "Wangmei Quenches Thirst" and Zhuge Liang's "Empty City Plan" are all perfect embodiment of creativity.
In today's competitive environment, creativity, which is a very pioneering and innovative ability, is more and more reflected in its gold content.
Entrepreneur Kai-Fu Lee said in a public speech:
In the future, there is only one profession that can stand, and that is creative work, and those children who are creative are largely the elite of the next era.
Therefore, in many cases, creativity is a "magic weapon" to gain a foothold in society, achieve success, and even sometimes turn things around.
And for those children who have been running and playing outside since childhood, the outdoors is like a huge playground and a natural classroom with various materials.
In this classroom, they discover and capture, they record and imagine. They are free from the constraints of frameworks and are free to explore and learn.
And the cultivation of creativity is often carried out quietly when they are immersed in it.
In fact, as today's parents, we always hope that our children can seize every moment, sit at the desk, study hard to read, and get good grades.
But in fact, compared to the knowledge in books, compared to the results in the exam papers, let children get in touch with the outside world, maybe in all aspects, better cultivate their abilities.
Everybody says, right?
