The Xplorer Prize is known as the "Oscar" of China's scientific community. Established in 2018, the award was co-sponsored by 14 scientists, including Yang Zhenning and Rao Yi, and Tencent founder Pony Ma, and no more than 50 scientists will be selected each year to give honorary titles, and a total of 3 million yuan will be awarded for five consecutive years to help them explore new directions in the "no man's land" of science.
On October 19, 2024, 49 scientists were awarded in the 6th Xplorer Prize, and the official prepared a red carpet for them, and announced the reasons for each award, personal experience and representative achievements at the award ceremony.
In addition to the representative achievements of each scientist, the Xplorer Prize places more emphasis on their potential for future scientific exploration. For example, the award-winning Yang Xiaofei will explore the measurement technology of polyatomic radioactive molecular spectroscopy and the origin of positive and antimatter asymmetry. Support the awardee Yao Fang to explore the direction of deep learning and mechanism-driven big data statistical inference.
Achievement, potential, research, and exploration make up the Xplorer Prize. In the future, more young scientists will be encouraged by the award to help them achieve greater achievements in new fields.
