During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Zhang Jihui, a mainland air force pilot, seized Davis's pistol at the place where Davis fell after defeating his famous United States Air Force general.
However, at the 1958 exhibition, Davis's pistol mysteriously disappeared. The Continental Army Police were dispatched at the same time, but no one found any trace of the pistol.
It wasn't until a report in 1961 that the theft came to an end, so what was going on?
Thrilling fierce battles, captured pistols
Zhang Jihui was born in a poor family in Shandong, became a soldier of the Eighth Route Army in 1945, followed the team to fight in the north and south, and came to the northeast.
It coincided with our army's decision to establish an air force and train a group of air force pilots, and after the old Northeast Aviation School was officially completed in 1946, Zhang Jihui passed the preliminary assessment and became a reserve pilot.
Before officially setting foot on the Korean battlefield, Zhang Jihui only had more than 100 hours of flight time, and his opponent Davis was an ace pilot of the US military with more than 3,000 hours of flying experience.
One is a novice pilot who has just started, and the other is an old pilot who has been experienced in a hundred battles and has won many times.
On February 10, 1952, early that morning, several US planes moved again, dropping bombs from high altitudes to bomb the communication lines near the positions of the volunteers.
The Volunteers urgently sounded the alarm and sent 34 MiG-15 fighters to launch a counteroffensive against the US fighters.
Zhang Jihui aimed at the target and flew over, just in time to run into Davis's fighter plane, and at the same time, Davis also spotted them, planning to use the clouds as a cover to launch a sneak attack.
He suddenly climbed to the height, and made an emergency turn to Zhang Jihui's right, but he didn't expect Zhang Jihui to turn left directly and chase after him from behind.
After a few rounds of fighting, Davis and Zhang Jihui engaged in a fierce battle in the sky, only to hear the sound of artillery fire resounding in the high air, and finally Zhang Jihui's fighter plane was hit by another group of American fighters, and the plane fell from the sky.
Just when everyone was worried, Zhang Jihui had already parachuted to escape and landed safely on the position of the volunteers.
At the same time, the 334th Squadron of the 4th Wing of the US Air Force exploded because Squadron Leader Davis was missing. But what everyone never expected was that Davis was attacked by Zhang Jihui three times in a row during the battle and crashed to death on the spot.
When the volunteers searched the crash site of Davis, only the bombed shell and equipment scattered all over the place remained, and finally the volunteers captured his pistol as the trophy of the battle.
In 1958, the revolver was exhibited as an exhibit, but it disappeared out of thin air.
The pistol is missing, and there are many suspicions
On December 13, 1958, after receiving the report, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau immediately dispatched police officers to set up an investigation team to rush to the site of the stolen exhibition hall.
The atmosphere at the exhibition site was solemn, and the docent Li Rongchang was even more panicked, obviously she had explained the pistol in the morning, but she didn't expect that the pistol would disappear after a while.
This pistol is a symbol of the mainland's breaking the myth of the US Air Force and has important commemorative significance, so after Li Rongchang discovered that the pistol was missing, the exhibition immediately decided to block the import and export.
But there was no surveillance equipment at the time, and the pistols were not locked in display cases, and some students would pick them up out of curiosity as they passed by, and no one knew when they had disappeared.
This made the police confused, and they had no choice but to investigate all the people who participated in the exhibition that day, which took a lot of time, and the investigation was inconclusive.
Eventually, the theft case became an unsolved case, and no one knew where the stolen Davis pistol went, and the investigation was carried out until the Spring Festival of 1959, when the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau had no choice but to cancel the investigation.
But this does not mean that they have given up on the news of finding Davis's pistol, and the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has released a high-priced reward for those who can provide clues.
Even so, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau did not receive reliable information until 1961, when a strange incident occurred - someone put leaflets everywhere in the streets.
The content of the leaflet was unsightly, and every time a new leaflet was pasted, enthusiastic residents reported the crime, which attracted the attention of the police handling the case.
As a result, when they investigated the informant in depth, they found out that this person turned out to be a habitual thief, but when the police went to his house to search, they accidentally found a stolen Davis pistol.
When the ironclad evidence was put in front of him, the arrested informant also explained his motive for committing the crime.
The essence of foreign slaves, the heart promises United States
This person's name is Jin Xianying, who was originally a nobleman of the Manchu Qing Dynasty, but became an ordinary person after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and was working in the design institute of the Ministry of Railways at the time of the crime, with a stable job and a happy life.
However, Kim has always had an United States dream in his heart, and he learned about United States through Bob Kim Yuebo and thought it was a country full of democracy and wealth.
Jin Xianying thinks that he is of noble birth and is unwilling to be an ordinary person in New China, so he has been looking for opportunities to be courteous to United States, hoping that one day he can get rid of the current boring days.
Finally, in 1958, he learned that the pistol of Davis, a U.S. Air Force pilot, was about to be on display, and thought that the pistol was a symbol of shame for United States, so he thought of stealing the pistol.
So on the day of the exhibition, he blended in with the student team, following the docent's footsteps and slowly approaching the pistol, and when he heard the docent explain the origin of the pistol, Kim Hyun-young's eyes kept staring at the pistol.
After the team slowly moved to the next pavilion, Kim Xianying turned back from the crowd and came to the booth where the Davis pistol was placed, and secretly took the pistol while no one was around.
It's just that he took the pistol but didn't have a chance to get in touch with United States, which made Kim Xianying angry and annoyed, and he just wanted to do something big to prove himself.
He took the opportunity of taking sick leave, and began to post small advertisements on the streets and alleys, and also reported false police, while he secretly hid in the dark to watch the police busy.
As everyone knows, the police have locked up Jin Xianying in many investigations, and finally arrested him, but Jin Xianying is still unrepentant after being arrested, claiming that he is the master of the Manchu Dynasty.
He was born after the fall of the Qing Dynasty, but he was immersed in the past history of the Qing Dynasty and was willing to be a foreign slave, but no one knew about Jin Xianying's series of practices.
epilogue
After the truth came out, Kim Hyun-young was sentenced to death in accordance with the law and accepted the punishment of the law. Since ancient times, only a country has a home, and the Communist Party has led the people of Chinese to stand up, but Jin Xianying is bent on being a foreign slave and is willing to bend over to United States, which is also doomed to his waist pole can no longer stand up.
