A report suggests Alphonso · Davies will listen to Manchester United's offer if they are ready to meet his wage demands.
Davies' contract with Bayern Munich is expiring and the left-back is still close to agreeing a contract extension, with finances considered a major stumbling block at the moment. In just two months, Davis was free to talk to overseas clubs, and he saw a growing interest in his services. Manchester United have been drawn up lately, following reports that Barcelona are the suitors, but leading the race for Davies' signing is longtime admirer Real Madrid.
It was widely believed that Real Madrid would win Davies' signing, but according to Christian · Volker, a move to Spain is by no means guaranteed. In fact, Davies will be ready to listen to Manchester United's pitch if they express their willingness to meet his wage demands of around £20m (£16.7m) per season.
Davies' preferred choice remains Madrid, but Spain must make an acceptable offer to the Canada international, whose negotiations with Bayern broke down after the Bundesliga leader was unhappy with his financial demands. Real Madrid found themselves overbid by Manchester United in the summer when the Red Devils suddenly signed centre-back Lenny · Yoro, who, like Davies, was expected to travel to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Manchester United are offering the young defender a salary higher than what Real Madrid officials are prepared to pay, although this stance is due to the fact that Yoro is entering the final year of his contract and can be transferred on a free transfer in 2025, as is the case with Davies. The opportunity to sign the left-back without a transfer fee could allow Real Madrid to loosen their wallets to some extent.
