On October 17, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) issued a notice on the filing of WeRide Inc.'s overseas issuance and listing, stating that the company's filing materials for overseas issuance and listing had been received. The Company intends to issue up to 159,045,000 shares of its common stock and list on the United States NASDAQ exchange.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) stated that from the date of issuance of the filing notice to the end of the overseas issuance and listing, if a major event occurs in the company, it should report through the filing management information system of the China Securities Regulatory Commission in accordance with the relevant regulations on the overseas issuance and listing of domestic enterprises. Within 15 working days after the completion of the overseas issuance and listing, WeRide shall report the issuance and listing through the filing management information system of the China Securities Regulatory Commission. In the process of overseas issuance and listing, the company shall strictly abide by the relevant laws, regulations and rules at home and abroad. If WeRide has not completed the overseas issuance and listing within 12 months from the date of issuance of the filing notice and intends to continue to promote it, it shall update the filing materials.

In June this year, WeRide was notified of the commercialization of high-speed road travel services in the Beijing Intelligent Connected Vehicle Policy Pilot Zone, and its autonomous mobility service vehicles were approved to carry out commercialization pilots of autonomous driving travel services in specific areas of Beijing.

WeRide founder and CEO Han Xu worked as chief scientist for autonomous driving at Baidu before leaving Baidu in March 2017. Xu Han holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in United States, is a tenured professor at the University of Missouri, and was the director of the Computer Vision and Machine Learning Laboratory.

Prior to the IPO, Han Xu held 7.6% of the shares and had 31% of the voting rights; Li Yan holds 6.3% of the shares and has 10.8% of the voting rights; Duane Ziping Kuang holds 8.5% of the shares and has 5.7% of the voting rights.

WeRide has completed 10 rounds of financing, with investors including He Xiaopeng, Guangzhou Automobile Group (601238. According to the prospectus, WeRide's R&D expenses are primarily comprised of personnel costs related to the engineering personnel responsible for designing, developing, and testing autonomous vehicles.
