Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine issued the "Notice on Announcing the List of Selected Key Discipline Construction Projects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Clinical) in Shanghai". The Anorectal Department of Jinshan District Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine was selected into the list of key disciplines (traditional disciplines) of traditional Chinese medicine (clinical) in Shanghai.
The Anorectal Department of Jinshan District Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (formerly known as the Department of Hemorrhoids of Traditional Chinese Medicine) was founded in 1942 and has 19 medical staff. It has been successively selected as the key medical specialty of the municipal health system, the third batch of clinical advantage specialties of traditional Chinese medicine, the characteristic specialty of traditional Chinese medicine in the "14th Five-Year Plan", the characteristic department of the first batch of "one district and one brand" key base of traditional Chinese medicine specialty service, the characteristic specialty of traditional Chinese medicine of the District Health Commission, the third, sixth and seventh cycle of medical key specialties and other projects, and listed the academician expert workstation (health field) in Jinshan District.
Through unremitting efforts, the anorectal department has obvious advantages in traditional Chinese medicine, especially in the diagnosis and treatment of benign anorectal diseases such as internal and external hemorrhoids and complex anal fistulas, which has significant curative effects, and has continuously improved its own development at the same time, it has driven the diagnosis and treatment level of anorectal diseases in Jinshan and the surrounding areas, and produced good social benefits.
The department's "Hemorrhoidal Powder Production Technique" was selected into the second batch of Shanghai's intangible cultural heritage list, and won the national invention patent. Since 2019, the "Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Continuing Education Program" has been held for four consecutive years, and in 2023, the national traditional Chinese medicine continuing education and training course will be successfully held.
