The election of the sixth-term Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region was held today (13 July). Sam Ho-fai was elected as the sixth-term Chief Executive of the Macao SAR with a high vote.

Shum Haohui was born in May 1962. On 20 December 1999, Sam Ho Fai was appointed by the Chief Executive as President of the Court of Final Appeal of the Macau S.A.R. Region, and served as the Chairman of the Judges Committee, a member of the Independent Committee for Recommending Judges, a member of the Inter-regional Working Group on Mutual Legal Assistance and International Mutual Legal Assistance, and the Honorary President of the Macao Basic Law Promotion Association.

On 26 August this year, the Official Gazette of the Macau S.A.R. issued Executive Order No. 44/2024, announcing that, at the request of Sam Ho-fai, he would be removed from his posts as President of the Court of Final Appeal, a judge of the Court of Final Appeal and a member of the Independent Committee of the Judge recommended by the Macau S.A.R. with effect from 28 August 2024.
