On October 13, the 23rd China University Swimming Championships (Southern Division) was held at the Zunyi Olympic Sports Center Natatorium, hosted by the Chinese Student Sports Federation, attracting more than 1,000 athletes and coaches from 96 colleges and universities in the Southern Division.
This year's championship set up freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and individual medley, as well as 4X100m freestyle, 4X100m medley and other relay events. The event is not only a test of the competitive level of college swimmers, but also an important measure to promote the development of campus sports culture.
Teams from Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University, Sichuan University, Xiamen University, Southwest University and other universities will compete fiercely for medals in various events in the next four days. The holding of this competition will further promote the development of swimming among Chinese college students and improve the physical literacy and health level of college students.
Liu Zhenqing, secretary general of the University Swimming Branch of the Chinese Student Sports Federation, said that the championship is not only a grand event of sports competition, but also a platform for cultural exchanges. During the competition, some coaches and athletes will be organized to go to the Zunyi conference site to carry out patriotic education and practice activities to help the team members better understand and inherit the red gene and strengthen their ideals and beliefs.
