Pan Hong, director of Mengxi Central Health Center, said.
Pan Hong, 68 years old this year, has been working in the township health center since he started working in 1991. Pan Hong introduced that in 2013, Songtao invested about 40 million yuan to build Mengxi Health Center as a regional central health center.
After completion, the new health center covers an area of 55 acres, with 200 planned beds and 176 medical staff, and has been recognized as a "second-level general hospital" in 2022, and has developed into a second-level comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation.
"At present, we have opened 12 clinical departments such as outpatient, internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and gynecology, as well as 9 administrative departments such as medical department and nursing department, which can provide the public with emergency first aid and rehabilitation and nursing services for common diseases, chronic diseases, and frequent diseases, as well as emergency first aid and referral services for critical, critical, and difficult diseases." Pan Hong said.
Not only that, the "old three" in the past have become spiral CT machines, four-dimensional color B-ultrasound machines, high-definition laparoscopes, automatic biochemical analyzers and other advanced medical equipment in Mengxi Health Center, which can carry out laparoscopic gastroduodenal perforation repair, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, limb fracture open reduction and internal fixation and other tertiary and fourth-level surgeries.
Wu Yanping, a villager from Wuluo Town, Songtao, accidentally fell and suffered a compression fracture, and she chose to be hospitalized at Mengxi Central Health Center. "In the past, people in the village went to the county seat to see a doctor, and if they were seriously ill, they had to go to Hunan and Chongqing for medical treatment." Wu Yanping said that most diseases can now be treated in Mengxi Health Center.
As a medical sub-center in Songtao, Mengxi Central Health Center has provided reliable medical care to nearly 200,000 people in Mengxi and surrounding towns such as Daping and Zhaiying. Last year, the hospital had more than 6,200 inpatients and more than 200,000 outpatient visits.
Medical care is a need for people's livelihood. Mengxi Health Center is a microcosm of the development of Songtao's medical and health undertakings. At present, the new hospital area of Songtao Autonomous County People's Hospital, located on the shore of Jiulong Lake, has been completed and is being relocated. The new hospital covers an area of 269 acres, with a construction area of 180,000 square meters and 1,150 beds.
