There are endless singing in the play, and outside the play is the endless flow of the years in the Yangtze River Delta region. On October 21st, the Red Chamber Troupe of Shanghai Yue Opera House "The Biography of Li Wa" was staged in Sanlin Town, Shanghai, which opened the special event of the China (Shanghai) International Arts Festival - the 2020 National Yue Opera Festival • Yangtze River Delta Opera Exhibition Month.
The exhibition lasts until December 3rd, with the theme of "Watching a Hundred Years of Opera, To the Millennium Sanlin" and the concept of "Cultural Exchange, Cultural Tourism Promotion, and Combination of Culture and Education", the Shanghai Yue Opera Art Transmission Institute (Shanghai Yue Opera) joined hands with the Shengzhou Yue Opera Troupe, Zhangjiagang Xiqu Opera Art Center, Yancheng Huai Opera Troupe, Anhui Huijing Theater, Shaoxing Xiaobaihuayue Opera Troupe and other five-parent triangular opera troupe.
In more than a month, the six theater troupes staged many classic plays such as Yue opera "The Biography of Li Wa", "Sable Cicada and Lü Bu", "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai", Tin Opera "Sister Jiang", Huai Opera "Spring Moon Strange Love", Hui Opera "Horror Story" and so on. The actors who appeared in this exhibition and performance activity include Wu Fenghua, a Yue opera actor who won the "Second Degree Plum" and the Magnolia Award, Dong Hong, a winner of the Plum Blossom Award and the Magnolia Protagonist Award, a tin opera actor, Wang Yushu, a plum blossom award winner and a Peking opera actor in Anhui Province, and Chen Fei, a Yue opera actor who won the Plum Blossom Award.
Combined with the Internet live broadcast to explore the story of the troupe behind the stage, the exhibition and performance month introduces the local cultural tourism and humanities, so that the audience can understand a drama through a play, understand the humanities and appearance of a city, and bring the audience a different opera cultural experience outside the stage performance. From September to October last year, the above Yue wei representatives joined hands with 8 national Yue opera troupes to carry out the Yangtze River Delta linkage, and launched 11 outstanding Yue opera representative plays to appear in Jing'an District and Pudong New Area respectively, creating a national Yue opera performance brand. Combined with the major node of the 30th anniversary of Pudong's development and opening up, the exhibition month chose Pudong Sanlin Ancient Town as the place where the brand project was settled, showing the cultural connotation of Sanlin Town from a historical ancient town in Jiangnan to a famous urban cultural town.
Li Ming, president of The China Shanghai International Arts Festival Center, said at the opening ceremony that the special event of the art festival settled in Sanlin Town, Pudong, is another style development and another brand innovation in accordance with the purpose of the festival. Through this activity, all the theater groups have realized the big gathering, big display and big exchange of the opera theater troupe in the Yangtze River Delta region, sought breakthroughs in inheritance, sought innovation in perseverance, and let the flowers of traditional opera art bloom undefeated and last for a long time.
