In the previous push, we pushed the "GIF Technology Appreciation: The Legendary Zhao Jianhua, how magical was it back then?" (Part 1)", which tells about Zhao Tianwang's flat high ball killing weapon, and briefly introduces its characteristics of fast assault and deep landing point.
The reason why Zhao Tianwang stood out at the age of 19 and won the All England Open championship was largely due to his distinctive offensive skills. In the early years, the rise of China's badminton level originated from the "Chinese fast attack", so good physical fitness and good attack were common characteristics of the Chinese team. However, at that time, most of the killing balls were "vigorous smashing", relying on speed and strength to win, the flight path of the ball was relatively long, and the landing point was relatively close to the bottom line. Therefore, once the defender retreats to the defense near the bottom line, the success rate of the defense is relatively high, and the habit of standing behind the defense is formed. However, Zhao Tianwang's killing ball is obviously different, he is not taking the speed power route, but a clever combination of "time and space", the shot is not heavy, but the shot is fast, and the landing point is deep (far from the bottom line), and the general athletes are very uncomfortable when defending.
In order to see the uniqueness of Zhao Tianwang's killing ball more clearly, Yang Yang's killing ball was compared. Figure 1 is Yang Yang's overhead killing line, Zhao Jianhua forehand blocked the net, the defense was successful; Figure 2 is Zhao Tianwang's overhead killing line, basically in the same position, but Yang Yang's defense failed, Figure 2 shows that Yang Yang's racket is still a certain distance from the ball. So, why are these two seemingly identical killing balls, and the results are completely different? Look at the data parsing results:
Figure 1 Yang Yang's overhead killing line: the killing ball is heavy, the line is long, it is far from the sideline, and the defense is relatively easy
Figure 2 Zhao Tianwang's head kills a straight line: the landing point is deep, close to the sideline, and the difficulty of defense is greatly increased
The following table is the three-dimensional data information of killing balls collected with the help of the "Badminton Game Video 3D Information Acquisition System Software" developed by Professor Shen Lejun of Chengdu Sports Institute. Through comparison, it can be clearly seen that the same position, the same way of killing the ball, the same is the left hand, Yang Yang's killing speed is very fast (killing the ball is heavy), but the batting point is low, the angle is small (line angle: the angle between the killing line and the ground), which means that the killing line will be relatively long. The data also shows that the landing point is close to the bottom line and far from the edge. Such a killing ball, it is relatively easy to defend. In contrast, Zhao Tianwang's killing speed is obviously not as good as Yang Yang's, but the batting point is high, the line angle is large, the landing point is far from the bottom line, and it is close to the sideline, so it is naturally not easy to kill the ball defense.
Looking at Zhao Tianwang's forehand splitting diagonal, the landing point shown in Figure 3 is basically the "dead corner" in the conventional terms of badminton. Table 1 parameters show that Zhao Tianwang's forehand jumping batting point is higher and the landing point is deeper, and such a split is the immortal to defend and cannot do anything. According to the author's understanding, there is a kind of "overlord killing" technology spread on the Internet, which is characterized by small action, fast ball speed, short line and high efficiency, and its source is actually derived from Zhao Tianwang's killing technology.
In addition, according to the research of Ren Yawei, Shen Lejun and others, the active Duty Famous Danish Arcelor, with a height of 1.94 meters, the batting point height of the bottom line jump kill ball is 2.83 meters; Lin Dan is 1.78 meters tall, the bottom line jump kill ball height is 2.68 meters, and Zhao Tianwang is 1.82 meters tall, and the height of the jump kill ball has reached 3.09 meters, which is indeed a very amazing ability.

Zhao Tianwang's third door killer: the high hanging killing action is extremely consistent

Motion consistency is a prerequisite for "change" to produce an effect. As mentioned above, Zhao Tianwang's technique was hailed as the textbook of Chinese badminton in that era, which shows that the standardization of his movements is extremely high. And so it is,
Figure 4 is the process of Zhao Tianwang using a combination of high balls and kill balls to score points during the game, the first half of the legend is the overhead diagonal high ball, and the second half of the legend is the overhead killing diagonal. Notice that in Figure 4, the movement posture of almost every figure is the same, the only difference is that there is a slight difference in the range of force at the end. In Figure 4, the posture after the killing shot, the overall action range is slightly larger, and the actual combat result is Yang Yang's defensive failure; when the kill is blocked, the ball flies out of the sideline.
The legend shows only the combination of high ball and killing ball, in fact, the consistency of Zhao Tianwang's three technical actions of high, hanging and killing is very good, and the opponent's defense must be prepared for three kinds, and the difficulty can be imagined. What's more, the distance gap between Zhao Tianwang's most skilled flat high ball and hanging ball is too large, and it is really difficult to take care of each other.
Figure 4 Zhao Tianwang's high ball and killing action are very consistent
Admire Zhao Tianwang's hanging ball again. Figure 5 shows that after Adi hit back the high ball overhead, Zhao Tianwang withdrew from the top line, and then very gracefully hoisted diagonally above his head, neither taking off nor making a lot of force, Adi screamed for his life.
What's the mystery? Pay attention to figure 5, Zhao Tianwang shot the moment, Adi honestly stood in the middle of the belt, did not dare to have any ideas. After Zhao Tianwang took the shot, Adi judged that it was obviously too late to start the Internet after hanging the diagonal line. Figure 5 shows that Zhao Tianwang's hanging ball landing point is at the intersection of the front serve line and the sideline, which is also a dead corner of the defense, and Adi is obviously out of reach.

< h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" > Zhao Tianwang also has a weak underbelly: too many active mistakes

"Technical textbooks" and "many active mistakes" seem to be a paradox, and it is impossible to exist at the same time. However, there is such a existence in the badminton arena. Dai Ziying, who is now in the ascendant, is a typical example, she is recognized as a "technical flow", but "active mistakes" often make her return in major competitions, although the world ranks first, but still has no real name as a world champion.
Zhao Tianwang also has the same phenomenon, and there will be frequent mistakes at a certain point in time or time period. As for the cause, it is easy to think of the decline in physical fitness after he got pleurisy, which is part, but not all. The above situation can also occur when he is physically energetic. For example, in this match against Adi, Zhao Tianwang won 15-2 in the first set, and soon after the start of the second set, there were successive unnecessary mistakes, so that a tactical abandonment was taken.
For another explanation of the mistake, the author thinks that it may be related to Zhao Tianwang's playing style. Because the key to the success of his play is the accuracy of the four-point pull-off landing point, rubbing and putting on the net, the flat height is best to press the bottom line, and the killing ball pursues the pressing edge. This high demand for "precision" is often accompanied by a high degree of error. Whether it appears depends on the state of the game: low pressure, good state, smooth play, then it is a perfect performance, you can beat the opponent can not find the north; but once the pressure, have ideas, strong sense of winning, or poor emotional state, etc., continuous mistakes are easy to occur, and the level will be greatly reduced. Indonesia's famous Player Cai Xianglin once said: Playing with Zhao Jianhua, the first game must be prepared to be beaten by him to crawl on the ground, the second game must be dead and resist, slowly grind him, the victory in the third round belongs to you. There are both physical and psychological tactics.
In the final analysis, it still confirms the truth that no one is perfect. Zhao Tianwang had so many unique killer weapons, if there were no above weaknesses, it would be perfect. However, God is so fair, when you are strong enough to "seek defeat alone", "yourself" becomes the biggest enemy.
