According to CCTV News, the Sindh Ministry of Internal Affairs said a preliminary investigation believed that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device. It is reported that the explosion occurred near the intersection leading to the airport. The terrorist group Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack.
