Two tourists drove into the Lop Nur no-man's land and were trapped! 7 hours of self-help to no avail, abandoned the car and returned on foot

According to the WeChat public account "Jiuquan Public Security Bureau" on October 5, at about 20 o'clock on October 3, when the Yadan Public Security Checkpoint and Yadan Police Station were patrolling the scenic spot, they found two tourists, a man and a woman, who were covered with mud and sand, looking exhausted, and were about to leave the scenic spot on foot. The police immediately interrogated the two.

It turned out that Liu and Song were friends and were from Dongcheng District, Beijing. At about 8 o'clock on the same day, they drove to the scenic spot of Dunhuang Yadan Global Geopark in Gansu Province.

On the way, the two were attracted by the desert scenery and decided to drive into the Gobi to experience off-road. However, they did not realize that they had penetrated deep into the hinterland of Lop Nur. Although the terrain of the Gobi Desert seems to be flat, in fact, the sand flow is surging, and the vehicle has fallen into the desert several times, but fortunately it has been lucky to get out of trouble. Predicting the danger of continuing on, the two decided to turn around and return to the road. But at the moment of making a U-turn, the vehicle suddenly fell into a seemingly dry wet wetland, unable to move.

After nearly 7 hours of self-rescue, the two failed to get out of trouble. Seeing that the sun was about to set in the west, and they did not have enough food and water, their situation was critical.

At about 16 o'clock, the two decided to abandon the car and seek rescue on foot. Fortunately, after walking in the Lop Nur Desert for more than three hours, they saw the lights of the Yadan Scenic Highway and the Yadan Public Security Checkpoint, and finally successfully walked out of the Lop Nur Gobi to the checkpoint.

After learning of this situation, the police immediately provided the two with instant noodles and boiling water to replenish their physical strength, and contacted a social vehicle to send them back to the city for physical examination and rest.

At 14:35 the next day, Liu and Song came to the Yadan public security checkpoint again and asked the police to cooperate in rescuing the trapped vehicle from the desert. The Yadan Police Station immediately arranged police forces to enter the hinterland of Lop Nur together with the social rescuers contacted by Liu and Song.

According to the direction provided by Liu and Song, the vehicle drove out of the Yadan scenic area and found the trapped vehicle after driving about 20 kilometers. After everyone's joint efforts, at about 17 o'clock, the trapped vehicle was successfully rescued, and the two left the Yadan Scenic Area safely.

Liu and Song expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Yadan Police Station for their timely rescue.

Jiuquan Public Security reminds that when exploring or traveling, you must be fully prepared, understand the local terrain and weather conditions, and ensure your own safety. At the same time, it is also necessary to abide by local laws and regulations and scenic spot regulations, and do not trespass into restricted areas or dangerous areas without permission. Only in this way can we better enjoy the beauty of nature and the joy of adventure.

According to the China Police Network, the Yadan Global Geopark Police Station of the Dunhuang Public Security Bureau in Gansu Province is the only desert "cave police station" in the country.

Yadan National Geopark is located in the southeast edge of Lop Nur with the "Sea of Death", because there are more than 5,000 Yadan bodies of different sizes formed by wind erosion in the park, and the shapes are rich and colorful, the shapes are different, when the wind blows, it will emit all kinds of strange sounds, so it is also called "Devil's City", which is loved by explorers. The main task of the Yadan Police Station is to maintain the normal order of the nearly 400 square kilometers of the park and protect the lives and property of tourists.
