Recently, China Central Radio and Television Station held a grand press conference for audio-visual products of "From Beijing to Paris". The event focused on the outstanding achievements of Sino-French cultural exchanges, and commended 24 outstanding figures and works who have made outstanding contributions to the mutual learning between the two countries. Wang Tianwen, the national inheritor of Huazhou shadow puppetry, and Wang Haiyan, the representative inheritor of Huazhou shadow puppetry, won the Special Honor Award for Sino-French People-to-People Exchange with their exquisite works "The Story of Rotten Ke" and "The Emperor's Tour", showing the unique charm and far-reaching influence of Huazhou shadow puppet art to the world.
The two works "The Story of Rotten Ke" and "The Emperor's Tour" are the crystallization of years of artistic accumulation and innovation of Huazhou shadow puppet inheritors. "The Story of Rotten Ke" is based on ancient Chinese classics and tells the fantasy experience of the Go fairy boy who strayed into the world; "The Emperor's Tour" shows the spectacular scene of the royal travel with magnificent momentum. Every line, every color, all show the subtlety and charm of Huazhou shadow puppet art, which is breathtaking.
Huazhou shadow puppet works won this award, building a bridge for Sino-French cultural exchanges. It is believed that with the unremitting efforts of Huazhou shadow puppet inheritors, there will be more Huazhou shadow puppet works shining on the world cultural and artistic stage.
