If I ask you, which is the fastest car on the planet? You might think of Bugatti, Koenigsegg. But the fastest car at the moment is United States a brand called Hennessey. It produces the Hennessey Venom F5, which can reach a top speed of 500km/h on land, which is terrifying. And now, the company has launched a monster that combines terrifying speed with wonderful driving pleasure. Limited to 12 units, with a maximum horsepower of 1,817 hp and a 6-speed manual, this is the world's most powerful manual convertible: the Hennessey Venom F5-M Roadster. The heavily redesigned Venom F5-M Roadster focuses on a six-speed, pure manual transmission with a core purpose of amplifying driving excitement. In addition to the excitement of the open-top cockpit, Hennessey also opted for a shift mechanism with a purely physical transmission connection.
John Hennessey, Founder and CEO of the company, said: "Driving the Venom F5 is already an exciting experience. However, we never stand still. That's why we're going to dig deeper into how to get more driving pleasure. Our approach is to find every point of contact between the vehicle and the body to provide a connection. For example, the feedback of hands and feet, the participation of sounds. We believe the Venom F5-M Roadster will be the most intense, immersive, and extreme driving experience on the planet, and we are honored to be able to complete this great car with twelve lucky customers! ”
Hennessey engineer Brian Jones worked with the company's experienced tuning team to redesign some of the engine's details to pair it with the new manual transmission ratio, making it possible to pair a manual transmission with a 1,817 hp engine. The gradual release of power will guarantee devastating acceleration of the Venom F5-M, while utilising power delivery to achieve the pursuit of top speed. Only 12 Venom F5-M Roadsters will be produced, all of which have been sold, with a starting price of US$2.65 million (about 16 million yuan) and a unique livery unique to the model lineup. In addition to the fact that each customer has a different body color and a unique carbon fiber imprint, the manual transmission of the Venom F5 will maintain the most distinctive interior and exterior characteristics of the model. One of the most noticeable differences is the addition of a huge 1,400mm-long dorsal fin that extends from the roof-mounted air intakes to the trailing edge of the rear deck.
In the cockpit, the redesigned interior highlights the raised aluminium shift lever, which is precisely positioned close to the driver for the most perfect shifting maneuver. Nathan Malinick, Design Director at Hennessey, said: "This is a car for daring driving enthusiasts who love the wild power of supercars, the dramatic design and the unmatched driving experience of anything else on the planet.
Malinick and his team created a bespoke livery for the F5-M that accentuated the car's lines, emphasised the convertible attributes, and drew inspiration from traditional motorsport design. From the front, exposed carbon fiber is combined with a coloured centerline and contrast, with contrasting accent stripes extending all the way to the windshield. The stripes extend all the way to the roof and along the dorsal fin to the rear edge of the row back cover, connecting the exterior of the car to the cockpit, while the spine line mirrors from under the roof to the center console.
The predecessor of the new convertible Hennessey supercar is the world-record Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. The car remains the world's fastest open-top road car, setting the world's fastest sports car speed of 265.6 mph (427.6 km/h) in 2016, a record that still stands to this day. The Venom F5-M Roadster will continue to follow in the footsteps of its predecessors and challenge for even faster speeds.
