This kind of black business of "fake exposure and real extortion" has a certain degree of deception.

Recently, the Supreme People's Procuratorate made it clear that it will severely punish crimes related to cyberviolence in accordance with the law, strengthen the construction of the rule of law in cyberspace, and continue to optimize the business environment.
Zhang Jianzhong, deputy director of the Economic Crime Procuratorate of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, said in an interview with reporters that the procuratorate will focus on punishing crimes such as extortion and forced transactions against enterprises through the creation, dissemination and use of false information related to enterprises through the Internet, as well as crimes involving "cyber trolls" that contribute to illegal acts such as cyber violence against enterprises. Not long ago, the Supreme People's Procuratorate just released five typical cases of punishing the use of online violence to infringe on the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises in accordance with the law.
In particular, it is impossible for private enterprises to achieve stable operation in an environment full of rumors and slanders and conspiracy accusations, and it is even more impossible for entrepreneurs to invest and develop their careers with peace of mind when they are rumor-mongered, attacked, and "deducted".
At present, online and offline public opinion fields and business scenarios are highly integrated, and the online world is the real business environment for business operations. In 2023, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Court jointly issued the "Guiding Opinions on Punishing Online Violence Violations and Crimes in Accordance with Law", which clearly requires that online violence crimes be severely punished in accordance with the law. Although an enterprise is not a natural person, it still has a pseudo-personality, enjoys reputation and goodwill, and this reputation and goodwill are closely related to the operation of the enterprise and are directly related to the success or failure of the business, so the enterprise may also become the target of cyberviolence, and the fight against cyberviolence must also extend to the protection of enterprises.
The Supreme People's Procuratorate listed the characteristics of the illegal and criminal mode of "pressing the button to hurt the enterprise": some threaten the enterprise in the name of "public opinion supervision"; Some people use "fake" rights protection, "porcelain" rights protection and other means to carry out extortion; Some have set up special companies to operate a large number of websites and self-media accounts on multiple platforms, and the "one-stop" operation of media operation, information release, docking and deletion of posts; Some use public opinion promoters and "online water armies" to fuel the fire, and the negative impact of online rumors involving enterprises has multiplied geometrically.
It is worth noting that the illegal and criminal activities of "pressing the button to hurt the enterprise" have often embezzled the names of "supervision", "rights protection" and "cracking down on counterfeiting", and smeared cyberviolence and extortion with the oil paint of justice, and some lawbreakers even performed wildly on the Internet in the guise of "anti-counterfeiters". Some Internet celebrities, self-media and the MCN agencies behind them are in collusion, "one sings red face, the other sings white face", and they are the ones who accuse the company on the platform in a sanctimonious manner, and they are the ones who "seek cooperation" and collect black money behind their backs.
This kind of black business of "fake exposure and real extortion" has a certain degree of deception. Among the typical cases of cyberbullying companies announced by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, there are former anti-pyramid scheme volunteers who used their influence to concoct negative information about the company after being "blackened", and then threatened and blackmailed the company. For another example, Dong Moumou (screen name "Tietou") attracts traffic with "roaring anti-counterfeiting" on the surface, but behind the scenes, he is engaged in criminal activities of extortion, and has been taken criminal coercive measures by the Hangzhou police in accordance with the law not long ago.
The right of netizens to properly criticize and supervise enterprises and complain about problematic goods should be fully protected, and should not be blamed at every turn. On the other hand, those self-media and MCN organizations that jump up and down under the banner of "rights protection" and "patriotism", do everything they can, maliciously smear, "buckle hats and throw sticks" on private enterprises, but do extortion business behind them, are not "people's mouths" and "justice incarnation" at all, and they are engaged in criminal activities of cyberviolence + extortion, which must be severely punished by the law.
