In the history of the Qing Dynasty in China, we can rarely see the same famous generals as other dynasties, which has a lot to do with the Qing Dynasty's excessive emphasis on the Eight Banners system. Under the Eight Banners system, many capable Han generals were suspicious and unable to truly exert their abilities. Yue Zhongqi, the general who replaced Nian Qianyao during the Yongzheng period, was attacked by the Manchu Dynasty and the suspicion of the Yongzheng Emperor because of his Han identity, and finally had to hand over the military power early. In such a dynasty where there is a shortage of famous generals, there is a general who can be called a fierce man, he came from a cavalry background of a remote tribe and became the leading general in the Qianlong period with his bravery along the way, he is Hailancha.
A fledgling young knight
Hailancha was born in the Evenki ethnic group and lived in the Heilongjiang region. He joined the Qing army at an early age and began his military career as a Sauron horse (cavalryman). The Sauron soldiers were the elite troops that the Qing Dynasty relied on since the founding of the country. In order to ensure the combat effectiveness of the Sauron soldiers, the Qing government even required that this tribe could not farm and settle like other ethnic groups, but could only serve the imperial court.
From the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, the biggest enemy of the Qing Dynasty was actually the Zungar in the northwest. Emperor Kangxi faced the Junggar imperial expedition and achieved an absolute advantage, but Emperor Yongzheng obviously did not have his father's ambition, and the situation in the northwest became precarious.
Soon after Emperor Qianlong succeeded to the throne, in order to consolidate his rule, the northwest issue had to be resolved. Fortunately, in this battle, Emperor Qianlong ran into Hailancha. In the twentieth year of Qianlong (1755), Hailancha, as a soldier of Sauron, pursued Bayar, the leader of the Junggar rebels, with his army. When Bayar fled to the Tacheng area, he was chased by Hailancha, and was shot off his horse with an arrow, and finally captured alive. This result greatly boosted the morale of the Qing army and also made important achievements in quelling the Junggar rebellion.
Because of his great contribution in this battle, Hailancha was given the title "Erke Baturu" by Emperor Qianlong, and was promoted to a second-class guard, and soon to a first-class guard.
Crusade and seek life immediately
From the 32nd year of Qianlong (1767) to the following year, Hailancha, who was already famous, participated in the Qing-Burma War twice and served as the commander of the vanguard troops. Hailancha led the Qing light cavalry to defeat the Burmese army many times, especially in a key battle, he led 500 cavalry to defend the ferry and successfully resisted the attack of the Burmese army on elephants.
For his outstanding performance in the Qing-Burma War, the Qianlong Emperor of Hailancha was awarded the title of Deputy Governor of Mongolia with the Blue Banner, and his portrait was also hung in the Purple Light Pavilion Hero Portrait. From a lowly born Sauron soldier to the leading soldier king in the Qianlong period, Hailancha has become the pillar of the Qianlong Emperor's army.
In the thirty-sixth year of Qianlong (1771), Hailancha was transferred to the deputy capital of Mongolia with the White Banner and went to Sichuan to participate in the Battle of Jinchuan. Hailancha regained his true colors of desperate Saburo, led the army to defeat the rebels many times, conquered many fortresses, and made great contributions to the pacification of Xiaojinchuan.
After the pacification of Xiaojinchuan, Hailancha continued to participate in the Battle of Dajinchuan. In the face of the crisis of the war, Hailancha was not chaotic, rescued the Qing army from danger many times, and finally succeeded in pacifying Dajinchuan. After the Battle of Jinchuan, Hailan Cha was promoted to the first-class super brave marquis and awarded the title of Minister of the Guard.
Imperial Pillars
Since ancient times, China has been a good general, a good bow, a cunning rabbit, a dead lackey, but Hailancha, as a general under the command of Emperor Qianlong, did not follow in the footsteps of his predecessors. On the one hand, this is because Emperor Qianlong is unwilling to be a person who kills heroes, and on the other hand, it is also because Hailancha's ability is too strong, and the court can't do without him.
In the forty-sixth year of Qianlong (1781), a Hui uprising broke out in Gansu, and Hailancha was ordered to suppress it.
In the fifty-second year of Qianlong (1787), the Lin Shuangwen Uprising broke out in Taiwan, and Hailancha went with Fukangan to suppress it as a counselor. Hailancha defeated the rebels many times, and finally captured Lin Shuangwen and successfully pacified Taiwan.
In the 56th year of Qianlong (1791), the Gurkha invaded Tibet, and Hailancha led his troops again. He led his troops over the Himalayas and deep into the territory of Gorkha, defeated the enemy army many times, and successfully defended the territorial integrity of Tibet.
Despite his advanced age, Hailancha continued to contribute to the stability of the Qing Dynasty's frontiers and national security, and was deeply trusted and relied on by Emperor Qianlong. In the 58th year of Qianlong (1793), Hailancha died of illness in Kyoto. Emperor Qianlong lost his beloved general, gave him the nickname "Wu Zhuang", and made an exception to allow him to be enshrined in the Zhaozhong Temple in recognition of his outstanding military exploits and loyal dedication.
