According to the surging news on September 8, the reporter learned from Professor Li Haizeng's relatives and friends that Professor Li Haizeng, a well-known young scientist, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Energy and Power Engineering of Shandong University, died in Qingdao on August 29, 2024 at the age of 34 due to a sudden heart attack.
Li Haizeng
According to the information on the official website of Shandong University, Li Haizeng was born in March 1990, is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Energy and Power Engineering of Shandong University, and joined Shandong University in March 2021, with the discipline directions of condensed matter physics and engineering thermophysics. Li Haizeng is a young leader of the future star of the SID display department, a young Taishan scholar, and the winner of the first Shandong Overseas Excellent Youth Project.
According to public reports, Li Haizeng graduated from Qingdao University of Science and Technology to study inorganic non-metallic materials engineering, and obtained a doctorate degree in materials science from the State Key Laboratory of Fiber Material Modification of Donghua University in 2016, and then carried out postdoctoral research at City University of Hong Kong and the University of Alberta. In March 2021, he joined Shandong University and worked at the Qingdao Institute of Frontier Interdisciplinary Science and the School of Energy and Power Engineering, where he carried out research on multifunctional electrochromic materials and devices, and presided over a number of projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Shandong Overseas Excellent Youth.
In addition, Li Haizeng has won the Nanoscale Emerging Scientist Award, the Microsystems & Nanoengineering Outstanding Young Scientist Award, and the Wiley China Open Science 2022 Author of the Year Award.
Due to the interdisciplinary characteristics of electrochromism, the current research work of Li Haizeng's group is mainly carried out in three secondary schools of Shandong University (Qingdao Institute of Frontier Interdisciplinary Science, School of Energy and Power Engineering, and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering) and multiple teams (Liu Linhua Jieqing team of School of Energy and Power Engineering/Qingdao Institute of Frontier Interdisciplinary Science, and Yu Weiyong Jieqing team of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering).
In the past five years, Li Haizeng has published more than 30 academic papers in mainstream journals as a single author or corresponding author, many of which have been selected as ESI hot papers and highly cited papers. In addition, Professor Li Haizeng has been granted 3 invention patents in China and 1 patent in United States.
After this matter was reported, it rushed to the hot search and attracted widespread attention. Countless netizens expressed their regrets:
