The autumn breeze is cool, and the singing is melodious. On September 5, 2024, the vocal music class of the University for the Elderly ushered in the first lesson of the second half of the year. At 8 o'clock in the morning, the students of the vocal class came to the classroom one after another with joy, greeted each other with laughter and laughter, and everyone got together again after the summer vacation, which was very cordial!
When the class bell rang, Teacher Yao and Class Leader Xu greeted everyone. Then, Class Leader Xu introduced the teaching plan and goals of this semester to everyone, and asked everyone to focus on learning and singing the two songs "Kiss the Motherland" and "Motherland, Kind Mother" in September to prepare for the National Day chorus of the class. In order to let everyone better understand these two songs, squad leader Xu also invited student Li Xiuping to sing "Kiss the Motherland" for everyone, and her affectionate and melodious singing won everyone's warm applause!
Subsequently, Teacher Yao began to teach everyone to practice vocalization. She first taught everyone to practice singing five vowels: a, ei, i., ou, u, u, these five vowels are the most basic vocalization of vocal music, the mouth shape should be moderately open and basically consistent when vocalizing, and the sound is issued from the middle fulcrum of the vocal cords, through the resonance of the laryngopharyngeal cavity, in a line. Teacher Yao emphasized that the pronunciation of the five vowels should be practiced regularly and gradually master the scientific pronunciation method.
Then, Mr. Yao taught everyone to practice the vocalization of "U, U (Huo), IA", first from the bass to the high note, and then from the high note to the low note. During the exercise, Mr. Yao let several students demonstrate and gave one-on-one guidance on their questions, which benefited everyone a lot.
In order to seize the time, Mr. Yao canceled the recess. In the second half of the class, she taught everyone to focus on singing the song "Kiss the Motherland". After a few singing practices, everyone has a deeper understanding of the melody and lyrics of the song. When everyone was more proficient in singing, Teacher Yao asked student Li Yugui to record a video for everyone to review after class.
When it was time for the end of class, the students hummed the songs they had learned and reluctantly left the classroom. Everyone said that they gained a lot from the first lesson of the first semester, not only learned vocal skills, but also looked forward to learning this semester!
