At night, on the northern extension of the central axis, the magnificent China Arts and Crafts Museum · and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum are brightly lit, and the citizens who came to the night tour exhibition hall lined up in long lines, many of them wearing flowing Hanfu. From August 7th to 10th, the museum launched a series of night activities with the theme of "Liqiu · Qixi", attracting people from all over the world to spend an elegant "Museum Wonderful Night".
The beginning of autumn and Qixi are connected, and the golden wind and jade dew are reunited. This week, August 7 is the beginning of autumn in the 24 solar terms, and August 10 will usher in the traditional festival "Qixi Festival". As early as 2006, the "Qixi Festival" was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative items. In 2016, "The 24 Solar Terms: The Time Knowledge System and Its Practice Formed by Chinese Through Observing the Annual Movement of the Sun" was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
As soon as you walk into the central hall of the museum, the first thing that catches your eye is the dazzling array of intangible cultural heritage markets. The museum has selected a market booth composed of nearly 30 representative items of intangible cultural heritage, such as Beijing embroidery, Beijing jade carving, Tianjin gourd making skills, cloth paste painting, traditional processing skills of Guanyun Pingyao beef, Suzhou embroidery, etc., to create a platform for displaying, experiencing, exchanging and sharing intangible cultural heritage, so that visitors to the museum can take home intangible cultural heritage.
At the market, many of the exquisitely conceived and skillful works of art highlight the romantic elements of Tanabata. In the Beijing Kite-making Skills Exhibition Area, a kite in the shape of a winged swallow is particularly eye-catching, and its silhouette looks like a swallow, only to find that it is two swallows landing on a connecting branch. This work is from the hands of Yang Liping, the representative inheritor of Dongcheng District, a national intangible cultural heritage project kite making skills (Beijing kite making skills). And his daughter Yang Yue, the representative inheritor of the "post-90s" intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting, brought paper-cut works with the theme of "happy eyebrows" magpies and "wings and geese".
In the vicinity of the intangible cultural heritage market, the Hanfu Cultural Experience Center, which began trial operation, attracted many visitors for consultation and experience. "Wearing Hanfu to visit museums, especially taking pictures on a traditional stage, seems to be more able to feel the communication across time and space, and have a different experience." A spectator dressed in Hanfu said. Located on the fourth floor, the bamboo-themed leisure service space of "Zhiqing Pavilion" is open to the public for trial operation, and the outer terrace on the fourth floor is also open to the audience, so that people can go out of the exhibition hall and immerse themselves in the night view of Aoyuan in summer and autumn, look up at the bright galaxy, and talk about the legend of Qixi Festival.
During the event, five exhibitions on the first and fourth floors of the museum, related intangible cultural heritage handicraft experiences, cultural and creative shops, coffee culture spaces, theme post offices and other areas are also open to the public. The museum set up a public welfare explanation activity in the "Flowers in Dunhuang" exhibition hall, and set up a blue experience area in the "Dream Blue Color" exhibition hall, and displayed the hand-weaving skills of Nanjing Yunjin wood machine makeup in the "Heavenly Clouds and Weaving in the World" exhibition hall. At the exhibition site, on the 5.6-meter-long, 4-meter-high, and 1.4-meter-wide Dahualou wooden jacquard loom, two craftsmen, "Flower Puller" and "Weaver", jointly operated, weaving the silk threads in their hands into a precise cloud brocade pattern, which amazed the onlookers.
In addition, in the intangible cultural heritage handicraft experience center on the fourth floor, the audience can also experience intangible cultural heritage items such as ancient jade making, Dunhuang stone pastel painting skills (mural copying), paper paper processing skills (quicksand paper fan making) and so on. It is reported that on the night of the Qixi Festival on August 10, the museum will also focus on the customs of Qixi begging, select two representative items of intangible cultural heritage, paper-cutting and Suzhou embroidery, and launch a characteristic intangible cultural heritage "Qixi handicraft experience" activity of "cutting" and "embroidering" love, so that the audience can experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage.
