75 people were involved! Suspected of theft and reselling thousands of corpses to make implant materials!

On August 8, lawyer Yi Shenghua published on the Internet the case materials of a case of theft, insult, and intentional destruction of corpses, which were made by the Taiyuan City Public Security Bureau in Shanxi Province on May 23 this year, indicating that the case was transferred to the Taiyuan City Procuratorate for review and prosecution.

According to the material, Shanxi Aorui Biomaterials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shanxi Aorui Company) is suspected of illegally purchasing remains and stumps as raw materials for the production of "allogeneic bone implant materials" products, with a total operating income of 380 million yuan from 2015 to 2023. In the investigation of the case, the police seized more than 18 tons of human skeleton raw materials and semi-finished products and 34,077 finished products of the company involved. More than 100 million yuan of funds of companies and personnel involved in the case were seized and frozen, more than 60 million yuan worth of assets such as insurance funds were frozen, and 16 real estate properties and 29 cars were seized.

According to the materials, the case involved illegal theft and resale of thousands of corpses.

According to the materials, there are a total of 75 criminal suspects in the case, all of whom confessed to the facts of the crime and pleaded guilty and accepted punishment, including Shanxi Aorui Company, Sichuan Hengpu Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Sichuan Hengpu Company), Shandong Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital Liver Disease Center, Guilin Medical College, Guilin City Funeral Home, Pingle County Funeral Home, Yongfu County Funeral Home and other units, in addition, it also involves the Yunnan Shuifu City Crematorium, Chongqing Banan District Crematorium, Guizhou Shiqian County Crematorium, Crematorium in Daying County, Sichuan.

At noon on August 8, lawyer Yi Shenghua told The Paper that he had obtained the aforementioned case materials from insiders, and the materials were true. He has said on Weibo that he is not the defense lawyer in this case.

In response to the case, The Paper interviewed a number of relevant departments. The staff of the Office of the Guilin Civil Affairs Bureau said that they had previously intervened in the investigation and handling, and the relevant business departments were responsible for following up.

According to the case materials, in March 2017, the suspect in the case, Zhang Moumou, went to the crematorium in Daying County, Sichuan Province as a manager, responsible for selecting, stealing, and smuggling corpses from the funeral home, and providing raw materials for human bones to Sichuan Hengpu Company. On August 8, the staff of the Daying County Civil Affairs Bureau confirmed to The Paper that the manager of the Daying County Crematorium was indeed Zhang Moumou, but he was arranged by the company to serve as a manager here, and he did not belong to the staff of the Civil Affairs Bureau. As for whether this enterprise is Sichuan Hengpu Technology Co., Ltd., the staff member said that he did not know, and he did not know about Zhang's involvement in the case or arrest.

The company is accused of illegally purchasing corpses and stumps to produce "allogeneic bones"

According to the above-mentioned case materials, Shanxi Aorui Company is a subsidiary established by the China Institute of Radiation Protection in 1999, and its business scope is the research and development, production and sales of "allogeneic bone implant materials", with Li Moumou as the general manager. Since 2007, Shanxi Aorui Company has gradually introduced Cong Moumou (who has been criminally detained and chased after the fugitive) and Su Moumou to acquire the shares of Zhongsheng Institute and its employees. By 2012, Cong Moumou accounted for 54.08% of the shares, was the largest shareholder, legal representative, and served as the chairman, Su Moumou accounted for 45.92% of the shares, served as the general manager, and Li Moumou was actually responsible for the company's operations.

From January 2015 to July 2023, Shanxi Aorui Company illegally purchased remains and stumps from Sichuan, Guangxi, Shandong and other places as raw materials, and carried out rough dismemberment, removal of skin and flesh, cleaning, irradiation, etc. on illegally obtained corpses and bones in the process of purchase and production, which was used to produce "allogeneic bone implantable materials" products, which were audited by the Taiyuan Special Office of the National Audit Office, and in terms of sales profits, the total operating income from 2015 to 2023 reached 380 million yuan.

From 2015 to 2023, in order to obtain a large number of raw materials for the production of "allogeneic bones", Li Moumou, Su Moumou and others instructed employees to go to Guilin, Guangxi, Chengdu, Sichuan and other places to haul human bones. The corpses were screened and processed in the Human Anatomy Teaching and Research Department of the Basic Medical College of Sichuan Hengpu Company and Guilin Medical College (hereinafter referred to as the Anatomy Teaching and Research Department of Guilin Medical College), and then the pretreated corpses were loaded into the car and driven back to the company for storage.

In order to cover up the illegal source of raw materials for the production and processing of "allogeneic bones" of Shanxi Aorui Company, Li Moumou arranged for many people in the company to forge the registration form for voluntary donation of corpses, inspection reports and other materials to prove the legitimacy and safety of the source of his corpses, and organized most of the company's employees to fake family signatures on the body donation registration form.

In addition, from 2015 to 2021, Li Mou1, deputy chief physician of the Liver Disease Center of the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University in Shandong Province, dismembered the body in advance, put it in a freezer for preservation, and sold it to Shanxi Aorui Company, selling a total of more than 10 human skeleton raw materials, with a price ranging from 10,000 to 22,000 yuan each.

On the morning of August 8, the operator of the service desk of the Laoshan branch of the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University told The Paper that the hospital has a liver transplant center and a liver disease center, and the two are together, and the latter is the intensive care unit.

According to the official website of the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University, the name of the deputy director of the organ transplant center and the director of the intensive care unit of the organ transplant center of the hospital has the same name as Li.

Subsequently, the surging news reporter called the liver transplant center of Laoshan Hospital, and the operator said, "Director Li Moumou is not on our side, we are here as an outpatient clinic." Director Li Moumou does not go out of the outpatient clinic. Regarding whether Li Moumou was arrested in the case, the staff member said, "Our director Li Moumou went to work well, who did you listen to." After the reporter said that there were case materials circulating on the Internet and revealed his identity, the staff member said that he did not know about the matter, "If you want to ask about this, you go directly to the hospital, don't make this call." Subsequently, the reporter called several times, but the phone was not answered.

The suspect is accused of controlling the theft of bodies from multiple crematoriums, involving more than 4,000 human skeletons

The case materials show that Sichuan Hengpu Company is an important source of human bone raw materials for Shanxi Aorui Company.

According to the case materials, since 2012, Su Moumou has invested in Shanxi Aorui Company, responsible for the company's supply of raw materials for human bones and the sales of "allogeneic bone" in 13 provinces and cities in the southwest, northeast, and northwest. In 2014, Su Moumou established Sichuan Hengpu Company, illegally obtained corpses and bones for the production and processing of "allogeneic bone" products, and sold some human bones to Shanxi Aorui Company. From 2017 to 2019, in order to expand the source of obtaining corpses and stumps, Su Moumou successively controlled the cremation sites of the Shuidong Crematorium subsidiary of Shuifu Tianfu Funeral Co., Ltd. in Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, Xianjushan Funeral Home in Banan District, Chongqing City, Wangcheng Funeral Service Co., Ltd. in Shiqian County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province, and Daying County Funeral Home in Suining City, Sichuan Province. Subsequently, he instructed the personnel arranged for him to steal the corpse, and after the body was brutally dismembered in the cremation workshop, it was transported back to Sichuan Hengpu Company, and some of the corpses were dismembered in Sichuan Hengpu Company, and Su Moumou confessed that the above four crematoriums provided more than 4,000 human skeletons to Sichuan Hengpu Company, of which more than 1,000 were arranged by Zhou Yusheng of Shanxi Aorui Company to be handled by Shi Moumou, Wang Moumou and others in Sichuan Hengpu Company, and then transported back to Shanxi Aorui Company. The rest of the human skeletons were pretreated by the employees of the production department of Sichuan Hengpu Company and stored in the new active cold storage of the second section of Konggang 1st Road, Shuangliu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, and the warehouse of Sichuan Hengpu Company in Pujiang County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province.

Local sources told The Paper that there is only one crematorium in Yunnan Shuifu, which is operated and managed by Shuifu Tianfu Funeral Co., Ltd., and the remains of the neighboring city of Yibin in Sichuan will also come here for cremation.

The Paper called the relevant person in charge of the Yunnan Shuifu Civil Affairs Bureau to verify the matter, and the other party replied: "The superiors asked our local government to take over, and there are requirements within the industry, which must be managed by our own cadres and employees." ”

The Paper tried to contact Sichuan Hengpu Company through the phone number published by the industrial and commercial information system, but the two landline numbers announced by the company were not answered, and the other mobile phone number was located in Chengdu, but the person who answered the phone was a woman, she said that she was in Beijing, the number was stolen, and she did not know about the company.

An experimenter from the anatomy department of Guilin Medical College was accused of reselling more than 300 bodies

The case also involved a number of criminal suspects in Guilin, Guangxi.

According to the case materials, on September 11, 2023, the National Audit Office carried out a special audit and found that Lan Moumou, an experimenter from the Anatomy Teaching and Research Department of Guilin Medical College, resold 322 human bones to Shanxi Aorui Company at a price of 10,000 yuan each for illegal profit.

From 2019 to the beginning of 2023, in order to provide a large number of raw materials for corpse bones to Shanxi Aorui Company, Lan Moumou and Tian Moumou still agreed to purchase corpses at a price of 900 yuan each and reached an agreement and affixed the official seal of Guilin Medical College when they knew that most of the corpses provided to the Anatomy Teaching and Research Department of Guilin Medical College by the funeral homes of Guilin City, Pingle County, and Yongfu County were stolen income.

According to the articles published on the official website of Guilin Hospital in 2019 and 2020, the director of the Human Anatomy Teaching and Research Department of Guilin Medical College is named Tian Moumou. A staff member of the Basic Medical College of Guilin Medical College said that Tian Moumou, director of the Human Anatomy Teaching and Research Department of Guilin Medical College, is currently on duty and has not heard of any involvement in the case. When the reporter asked whether there was an experimenter Lan Moumou in the human anatomy teaching and research department of the college, the staff member said that he could not disclose it, and then hung up the phone.

According to the case materials, between 2017 and 2023, the Anatomy Teaching and Research Department of Guilin Medical College purchased more than 450 corpses from the above three funeral parlors, of which about 300 were sold to Shanxi Aorui Company.

The police investigation also showed that the Guilin funeral home sold the unnamed corpse and the corpse of the family members who did not want ashes to the Guilin Medical College, and after preliminary verification, a total of more than 200 corpses were sold. The Pingle County Funeral Home gave up keeping the ashes of the family and did not cremate them, and resold them to the Anatomy Teaching and Research Department of Guilin Medical College for a profit, and held a general meeting of all employees to announce the decision, and after preliminary verification, the Pingle County Funeral Home sold more than 180 corpses. Wei Guodong, executive deputy director of the Yongfu County Funeral Parlor, knew that it was a crime to sell the remains of unknown households and their families who did not want ashes to others, and decided to transport a large number of corpses that had gone through the normal cremation process and collected family cremation fees to a certain place in Lan against the wishes of his family, and sold them at 900 yuan per corpse, and after preliminary verification, the Yongfu County Funeral Home sold 73 corpses for profit.

The Paper called the staff of the Guilin City Funeral Home and the Pingle County Funeral Home, and the other party said that they did not know about the case.
