The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Discipline Inspection Commission Supervision Commission released news on 28 July that Liu Chao, former secretary of the Chahar Right Wing Central Flag Committee in Wulanchabu City, was investigated on suspicion of serious violations of discipline and law.
The governor of Chang'an Avenue noted that two months ago, the person was also proposed to be nominated as a deputy candidate for the prefectural-level municipal government.
Liu Chao was born in October 1970 and is a third-class lawyer. He has worked in Wulanchabu for a long time, and has served as vice president of jining district court, deputy secretary general of the municipal government, and deputy secretary of the Fengzhen municipal party committee. He became the flag chief of the Central Banner of Chayou in early 2013 and took over as the secretary of the Flag Committee in October 2018.
In June this year, Liu Chao stopped serving as secretary of the Flag Committee. At the end of the same month, the Organization Department of the Autonomous Regional Party Committee issued a pre-appointment announcement that he was also to be nominated as a candidate for the post of deputy of the prefectural-level municipal government. It is worth mentioning that just one month before Liu Chao became the secretary of the Flag Committee, that is, in September 2018, his old leader, Zhao Xianghong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress and secretary of the Flag Committee of ChayouZhong, was investigated.
Born in April 1963, Zhao Xianghong was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Ulanqab Intermediate People's Court in August 2019 for embezzlement and bribery.
