In order to thoroughly implement the major decisions and arrangements of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the prevention and control of alien species infringement, severely crack down on illegal and criminal acts involving pine wood nematode disease and disease, resolutely prevent the infringement of alien species, and maintain the ecological security and biological security of Jingyuan County. Recently, the Jingyuan County Forestry and Grassland Bureau, together with the Forest Police Brigade of the Jingyuan County Public Security Bureau and the Silver Triangle Timber Inspection Station, launched the "Pine Protection 2024" special rectification action to crack down on pine wood nematode disease and diseased wood crimes throughout the county.
The action is mainly to the jurisdiction of the wood processing enterprises, trading markets, power grid equipment companies, mobile company yards and other on-site law enforcement inspections, focusing on the investigation of pine plants and their products (packaging materials, plates, cable reels, oil columns, etc.) in the off-site transfer of plant quarantine certificates, whether there is illegal acquisition, processing, use of pine family disease wood and other illegal and criminal acts, at the same time, the staff also to the inspected units to publicize and explain the "Forest Law", "Plant Quarantine Regulations", "pine wood nematode control knowledge" and other prevention and control policies and related knowledge.
Up to now, a total of 7 law enforcement officers have been dispatched to inspect 15 enterprises involved in the inspection, 750 cubic meters of logs, planks and other timber, 90 pine packaging boxes, cable reels (plates), 200 anti-corrosion oil rods, and more than 100 copies of various publicity materials have been distributed.
In the next step, the Jingyuan County Forestry and Grassland Bureau will further strengthen the coordination and linkage of departments, continue to promote the "Pine Protection 2024" action, promote the normalization of quarantine law enforcement, severely crack down on illegal and criminal acts involving pine wood nematode disease and epidemic wood in accordance with the law, and resolutely cut off the interest chain of illegal logging, operation, processing and transportation of pine wood nematode disease and other diseased trees, and effectively maintain the ecological security and biological security of the jurisdiction.
