Another push-off incident occurred in the New York subway!
Comprehensive United States Chinese Network and the New York Post reported that in the early hours of Monday, two female tourists from Mexico were pushed off the railroad tracks by another woman on a subway platform on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York, and the woman was quickly arrested by the police.
Police said the victims, all in their 20s, from Mexico, were pushed off the northbound platform of Line F at the Delancey Street/Essex Street station just after 2:15 a.m. Monday.
According to police sources, a woman approached the two and pushed the first 28-year-old woman onto the railroad tracks "for no reason." Her companion stepped forward to try to pull her out, but the suspect also pushed the 27-year-old woman onto the railroad tracks.
Police were dispatched to the station and quickly went to the scene to rescue the two women. A bystander helped them get back to the platform.
Police detained the female suspect, saying she was wearing no shoes and appeared to be emotionally unstable.
The suspect was later identified as Ebony Butts, 42, who was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and two counts of assault.
The suspect does not appear to know the victims, and it is unclear why she pushed them onto the railroad tracks.
The two injured women are currently being treated at Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries.
