On August 5, the 2024 Fortune Global 500 was officially released, with a total of 133 Chinese companies on the list. Among them, a total of 10 auto and auto parts manufacturers from China are on the list, namely SAIC Motor (93), China FAW (129), BYD (143), Guangzhou Automobile Group (181), Geely Holding Group (185), BAIC Group (192), Dongfeng Motor Group (240), CATL (250), Changan Automobile's parent company China South Industries Group Corporation (343) and Chery Holding Group (385).
Specifically, China's major private automakers, such as BYD, Geely and Chery, including CATL, have all risen significantly from last year. Most of the state-owned automakers have fallen from last year.
Among them, SAIC has been ranked in the top 100 of the world's top 500 companies for 11 consecutive years, and is the only Chinese car company with revenue of more than 100 billion US dollars. However, it ranks 93rd in the overall list this year, down nine places from last year.

FAW continues to rank second among Chinese automakers, ranking 129th overall this year, up two places from last year.
BYD jumped to 143rd place (3rd among Chinese automakers) with its excellent performance last year, up 69 places from last year. Geely Holding Group (No. 5 among Chinese automakers), which is also a representative of private automakers, has also risen 40 places in this year's overall ranking (184) compared to last year.
GAC Group continues to rank fourth among Chinese automakers this year, but ranks 181st overall, down 16 places from last year. BAIC Group's overall ranking is 192nd, up one place from last year, but its ranking among Chinese automakers remains unchanged. Dongfeng Motor Group ranked 240th this year, down 52 places from last year; Changan Automobile's parent company, China South Industries Group Corporation, ranked 343rd, down two places from last year.
It is worth mentioning that this year is the first time that Chery Holding Group has entered the list of the world's top 500, ranking 385th.
In this year's list, CATL is the only Chinese auto parts manufacturer on the list. After making the list for the first time last year, it is ranked 250th overall this year, up 42 places from last year.
In addition, Huawei and Xiaomi, which have not long joined the car-making track, have also entered this year's Fortune 500 list. Among them, Huawei ranked 103rd this year, up 8 places from last year; Xiaomi ranked 397th this year, down 37 places from last year.
Looking at the world, the top 10 car companies in the world's top 500 this year are Volkswagen Group (11), Toyota Motor (15), Stellantis (28), Ford Motor (36), General Motors (39), BMW Group (41), Mercedes-Benz (42), Honda Motor (57), Mitsubishi Corporation (including Mitsubishi Motors Business Division) (65) and Hyundai Motor (73). If Mitsubishi Corporation is excluded, SAIC will be the only Chinese automaker in the top 10.
It is worth mentioning that the ranking of the Fortune Global 500 is mainly based on the revenue of the company, so the list still has certain limitations and cannot fully reflect the actual position of the company in the industry and market.
