No. 24 was opened in 1958, as one of the "three major red flag lines in the country" that year, it has produced 15 national, provincial and municipal model workers, Li Wangfu is one of them, and has been awarded the "Wuhan Model Workers". Recently, he was awarded the honorary title of "National Model Retired Soldier".

The volunteer service team has been "stationing" for 6 years

In time for the summer vacation, there are more tourists coming to Wuhan, and it is the busy time for the 24 Volunteer Service Team.

In 2018, with the support of a branch, Li Wangfu organized 20 retired soldiers to set up a volunteer service team. All party members and young backbones of the party branch have joined the service team one after another, and there are currently more than 60 members. During holidays and major social events, the team members will take turns to volunteer at the bus stop of Zhongjia Village on Parrot Avenue.

The lines operated by the first branch also include No. 401 and No. 413 passing through East Lake. Every year from February to May is the flower season in Wuhan, there are many tourists who come to Han to enjoy the cherry blossoms, especially in recent years, more and more tourists have begun to enjoy the night cherry blossoms, the team members rushed to the Lumo Road Moshan bus station to take turns on duty, not only responsible for guiding the vehicle to enter the station safely, maintaining the order of passengers, but also acting as a tour guide for passengers in need. The team members are gone for a day, often not leaving until 10 p.m.

Li Wangfu recalled that once, a passenger from other places went out of the park after a trip and specially bought water to express his gratitude to the team members, "You were there when I came, and you are still there when I leave!" ”

"We keep in mind the identity of veterans, work meticulously, and serve all passengers well." Since 2020, Li Wangfu and his team members have taken advantage of the rest time to come to the community around the Yangxin Road Bus Parking Lot in Hanyang to carry out volunteer service activities such as serving the elderly and cleaning their homes, and regularly help the elderly and the disabled who live alone.

Every month, the volunteer service team will organize special training such as military physical boxing and service skills. The reporter learned that the service team had been awarded the "Demonstration Site of Learning from Lei Feng" in Wuhan.

During his service in the army, Li Wangfu tempered his work style of bearing hardships and standing hard work and being willing to make contributions.

At the age of 19, Li Wangfu enlisted in the army with an infinitely longing dream of a military camp and came to a certain unit in Guangdong from his hometown in Xinzhou. His unit was the former "Red First Regiment," one of the units with the longest history in the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and heroic and exemplary collectives such as the "17 Warriors of the Dadu River" during the Long March and the "Five Heroes of Langya Mountain" during the War of Resistance were all from this regiment.

"The experience of serving in the army is the spiritual wealth of my life," Li Wangfu said, after joining the army, he began to "grow out of joints" from an ignorant teenager, and has been tempered in an all-round way in terms of physical fitness, skills, and character.

In 2005, due to his outstanding performance, he was honorably admitted to the party in the army. In 2007, when he participated in the military competition organized by the former Guangzhou Military Region, he won the second place in his personal performance.

Li Wangfu told reporters that during the intensive training period before the big competition, they received various trainings from morning to night, with skills training and physical training during the day and military and political theories at night. During his service, Li Wangfu made meritorious contributions and received awards as many as 17 times.

After nine years of service, Li Wangfu transferred from the army and became the driver of the Wuhan Public Transport Group, holding a steel gun but a steering wheel.

"Driving a bus is a 'mentality'", Li Wangfu has gained the kindness of passengers, but also suffered grievances. After the bus explicitly prohibits eating in the bus, there are still passengers who do not comply with the regulations, and every time, Li Wangfu will patiently guide them. Sometimes, when some passengers spoke ill of each other, he suppressed his temper and mobilized other passengers to persuade him, "In the army, I was a vigorous and resolute person, and now, I am being worn slowly and steadily."

Driving the first bus is a chore, challenging the driver's body and mind. In 2016, when the line solicited drivers for the first train, Li Wangfu took the initiative to sign up.

At 4 o'clock every day, Li Wangfu got up on time and rushed to Hanyang Yangxin Road Station, the starting point of No. 24, ready to drive the car to Hankou to depart for the first train at 6 o'clock. Before departure, Li Wangfu will arrive early to make preparations. On a snowy day, he got up at 3 o'clock and rushed to the station to remove snow from the bus and check the condition. In the five years he was in charge of the first train, he never missed a trip.

The passenger base of the first train was basically fixed, and they and Li Wangfu became "unnamed friends". A passenger takes the bus to sell flowers every day, and Li Wangfu will help carry the burden onto the car every time, and when the passenger arrives at the station, he helps to move the flowers off the car. Once, this passenger specially left a flower in the car, which moved Li Wangfu. Even if the first bus is no longer opened, every time you meet an old passenger, everyone will look at each other and smile tacitly.

Li Wangfu sees every trip as participating in a "small battle." He said that he carried the safety of a carload of people, and behind each person was a family. Colleagues told reporters that the line workers admired this Master Li with "four hearts", that is, his unique service of "careful driving, patient service, respect for the elderly, and enthusiasm for children".

As a member of the "Red Flag Line", Li Wangfu will serve every passenger as a goal, and he believes that warmth and goodwill will be transmitted, "we will always persevere".
