On the afternoon of August 4, local time in Paris, the men's gymnastics rings final of the Paris Olympics was held at the Berch Gymnasium. Tokyo Olympic champion Liu Yang of China successfully defended his title with a score of 15.300. It was the first gold medal for the Chinese team in gymnastics at the Paris Olympics, and Liu Yang became only the third athlete in Olympic history to win two gold medals in men's rings.
