Activision has banned more than 65,000 Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players.
The ban was introduced in the last few hours, purging thousands of "cheat and speed" players in ranked and unranked games.
"The Ricochet anti-cheat team has now cleared the Call of Duty, Warzone, and Modern Warfare 3 leaderboards, banning cheating and overweight accounts," the Activision anti-cheat team said.
"Ricochet has accelerated the enforcement of anti-cheat measures, resulting in the banning of more than 65,000 accounts this week in ranked and non-ranked modes in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3.
"The team will continue to monitor and enforce against anyone cheating or speeding up in all game modes."
If that sounds like a lot, that's not really true given the size of Call of Duty's player base. As one commenter said in reply to the tweet above, "65,000 accounts seems like too little...... I just think there's a lot more ......."
Last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now available on Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox Game Pass users will have access to all Modern Warfare 3 modes, including the single-player campaign, multiplayer, and open-world zombie games. This is the second game launched by Activision Blizzard since Microsoft spent $69 billion last year, and Diablo 4 launched as a subscription service back in March this year. Of course, this isn't the only game Activision has announced on Game Pass; This year's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 24.
Black Ops 6 will be in open multiplayer beta this September, and those who qualify for Early Access (including Game Pass subscribers) will be able to enter the game a week early.
