In order to enrich the summer cultural life of teenagers and children in towns and villages and inherit the traditional ingenuity culture, on August 2, the 2024 "Scholarly Dongpo Happy Summer" town (street) oil paper umbrella making activity sponsored by the Dongpo District Culture, Radio and Tourism Bureau and undertaken by the Wansheng Town Comprehensive Cultural Station was held in the Wansheng Town Comprehensive Cultural Station, attracting more than 20 children from the surrounding area.
This activity mobilized the children's interest in artistic creation by explaining the history of oil-paper umbrellas, the production process and the DIY hand-coloring of the participants. The children got the oil-paper umbrella materials, and under the guidance of the teacher, they used color paints, and the plain umbrella surface was created with the efforts of the "little painter", and the patterns such as giraffes, crabs, and plum blossoms became colorful, showing the unique artistic personality of the children.
This activity allowed the participants to feel the charm of the oil-paper umbrella, and at the same time broadened the children's horizons, exercised their hands-on ability and patience, won the unanimous praise of parents, and also added color to the children's summer life.
