Nippon Paint Marine FASTAR is an antifouling coating that is friendly to the marine environment. The coating uses two cutting-edge technologies, nano-resin technology and patented hydrogel hydrogel condensation, which not only have a unique nano-scale hydrophilic and hydrophobic resin structure, but also have self-polishing and self-smoothing functions. The patented hydrogel condensate technology can form a microscopic layer of water between the paint film and the seawater, so that the water flow around and against the hull of the ship becomes smooth, and fundamentally reduces the friction resistance between the hull and the seawater when the ship is sailing. In addition, FASTAR is able to reduce the fuel consumption of ships while sailing, and meet the trend of slowing down under the target of EEXI (Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index). Not only that, but FASTAR is more effective in reducing biofouling problems for ships sailing at lower operating rates in higher water temperatures. Since FASTAR was included in the product line of Nippon Paint Marine in 2021, it has received praise from many customers.
