Chen Fei successively wrote in "Letter to the Luanxian County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China" and "In Memory of Comrade Wang Zhonghua, Our Political Member": "In the summer of 1934, Gao was recovered, and the incident of killing Liu Zuozhou at Luan Station was organized. At that time, Gao Qian was injured in the chest and feet, and was cured by Liu Guanying (a member of the Salvation Member) of Tingliuhe Minsheng Hospital. (Chen Fei, "Letter to the Luanxian County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China", see "The Soul of Jidong", p. 392) "In the summer of 1935, he organized Gao Zhiyuan, Chen Guowu and others to assassinate Liu Zuozhou, the heinous puppet security chief, at the Luanxian Railway Station, thus smashing the enemy's criminal conspiracy to send deputy captains to each militia to seize the armed forces of the Lunan militia. (Chen Fei, "In Memory of Comrade Wang Zhonghua, Our Political Commissar", in Luannan County Cultural and Historical Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Luannan Cultural and Historical Materials Collection (1-5 bound edition), October 2002, third series, p. 3)

The first volume of "The History of Luannan of the Communist Party of China" notes: "In the summer of 1935, Li Yunchang, secretary of the Jingdong Special Committee, and Ding Zhenjun, member of the Luanxian County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, went to Gedaituo Primary School to listen to the work report of Chen Fei, secretary of the Gedaituo Party branch. Soon, the local organization of the Chinese Communist Party sent people to contact Gao Zhiyuan.

At this time, Gao Zhiyuan was preparing to assassinate Liu Zuozhou. But this is not an easy task. Liu Zuozhou knows that he has done a lot of evil, he is cautious, his whereabouts are secretive, there are more than 20 personal guards alone, and there are plainclothes bodyguards, which are not easy for ordinary people to approach. In addition, Liu Zuozhou was born in the military, and his own defense ability is also very strong, so it is even more difficult to assassinate Liu Zuozhou.

Although it was difficult, Gao Zhiyuan was determined and had been doing everything possible to find an opportunity to assassinate. In June 1935, Liu Zuozhou took the guards to Leting County to 'set up a big incense hall' (a celebration of the gang). After Gao Zhiyuan learned about it, he prepared to kill Liu Zuozhou in Gedaituo to take revenge. Later, considering that Ge Daituo was the underground activity center of the CCP in Lunan and the source of the anti-Japanese salvation movement, he was afraid of affecting the Communist Party, so he secretly returned to Luan County from Ge Daituo to find another opportunity.

In Luanxian Chengguan, Gao Zhiyuan accurately grasped Liu Zuozhou's whereabouts through the intelligence of Zhang Shoumin, an insider who infiltrated the Luan County Police Bureau. On August 4, 1935 (the sixth day of the seventh lunar month), Gao Zhiyuan, with the cooperation of his fellow villager Chen Guowu, made up a chef, concealed short guns and grenades, and entered the Liangting Railway Station in Luanxian County.

At noon, I found that Liu Zuozhou, who had returned to Luan County from a meeting in Tangshan, walked off the train with Fumitsu Fumitsu, the captain of the Japan garrison in Tangshan. Gao Zhiyuan then raised his gun to shoot, and the first shot knocked Liu Zuozhou to his knees on the platform, and the second shot wounded Wenjing Qinguang.

At the same time, Chen Guowu opened fire at the foot of Hengshan (now Luan County) north of the railway station to attract the attention of the Japanese puppet army.

Gao Zhiyuan threw a grenade in the chaos and took the opportunity to escape from the train station. Because he was accidentally injured by a grenade, Gao Zhiyuan first hid in Dongshu, Zhengjiachang Village, not far from the station; He was transferred to a vegetable garden in Qinzhuang, where he was rescued by villager Li Guizhi, and left Luan County after his injuries were stabilized; Later, he went to Liu Guanying's Minsheng Hospital in Tingliuhe for treatment, and then transferred to Yangling, Li Bayu and Taitouying in Funing County to hide. (See History of Luannan of the Communist Party of China, vol. 1, p. 53)

"History of the Revolution in Eastern Hebei" records: On August 4, 1935, Gao Zhiyuan secretly carried a pistol, Qiao Xiang sneaked into the Luanxian Railway Station and shot Liu Zuozhou who was passing by here. Liu Zuozhou was originally an officer of the puppet army Li Jichun, insidious and cunning, loyal to the Japanese army, and was favored. (See History of the Revolution in Eastern Hebei, p. 168)

Gao Jizhi remembered: "At the beginning of August 1935, my father learned through a friend of the Luan County Police Bureau that the big traitor Liu Zuozhou took the train back to Luan County on August 4, 1935, so my father disguised himself as a small trader and shot the big traitor Liu Zuo to death at the old railway station in Luan County on Monday. At the same time, Chen Guowu, from the same village, also opened fire on Hengshan north of the railway station.

Chen Guowu went safely to the Taitou camp in Funing, where his father accidentally injured his foot by throwing a grenade when he fled the train station, and he couldn't walk, so he crawled into a grain field, and the cavalry of the Japanese puppet army searched him without being found. That night, a kind person who looked at the melon (later learned that this person's name was Li Guizhi) not only sent food to his father, but also sent a letter to Uncle Yuan Hechen at the old station (Yuan's family and our family are world friends). The fourth uncle, Yuan Hechen, personally sent my father to Liu Guanying in Tingliuhe, Leting County (because Liu Guanying was not only a doctor, but also a close friend of my father), and then Liu Guanying arranged for my father to be secretly treated at sea, and after recovering from his injuries, my father went to Tianjin. (Gao Jizhi, "Shed the Last Blood for the Rise and Fall of the Country", see "The Soul of Jidong", p. 90)

Yu Tun Chen Zai (Chen Wu's brother) remembered: "After Gao Zhiyuan killed the big traitor Liu Zuozhou, because he was injured, he spent a month in the reed pond cat in our village Xu family grave, and during the period of recuperation, the big traitor Liu Zuozhou's people and the Japanese devils sent people everywhere and offered a reward for catching Gao Zhiyuan. After the injury recovered, the Japanese puppet was still arresting Gao Zhiyuan, and in order to avoid the search and arrest of the Japanese puppet, Gao Zhiyuan took Li Linsheng to live in a hotel in Tianjin. (Chen Zai, "On the Relationship between Li Linsheng and Gao Zhiyuan", see Gao Xiaoping, Letter to Li Hongfa on the Gao Zhiyuan Issue· No. 12 (email, November 17, 2016))

Chen Weiji: "The two Japan melon-type grenades that Gao Zhiyuan used were still given to him by me. The news of Gao Zhiyuan's assassination of the traitor Liu Zuozhou soon spread throughout eastern Hebei and even north China, and Tianjin's "Yishi Bao", "Ta Kung Pao" and other newspapers and periodicals reported on it. (Chen Wei, "I Followed Gao Zhiyuan Twice to Eliminate the Tyrant", see "Soul System Jidong", p. 11)

Zhou Shiting wrote: "Even Japan's "Kanto Bao" and the puppet Manchurian "Manchurian Bao" reported news that they considered unfortunate. Gao Zhiyuan also became a legendary hero because of this, and both the Kuomintang and the Communist Party were looking for this anti-Japanese hero, especially the Nationalist Government, and in order to protect Gao Zhiyuan, they found a person named Li Zhenhua (this person is also the same as Liu Zuozhou) to replace the crime of the system."

"Historical Materials of the Republic of China· Memorabilia ·21st Series·1935 (24th Year of the Republic of China)":

August 4, 1935

Liu Zuozhou, the head of the security team of Luanyu District in Huangdong, was stabbed to death while meeting Commander Mei Jin at the Luanxian station. Fumii, the captain of the Japanese garrison, was almost sniped, and the Japanese military police Kitamura was wounded by a stray bullet. On 5 July, Sakai, chief of staff of the Japanese garrison in North China, and Yi I, chief of the special service in Yu, lodged a protest against Liu Zuozhou's case to Wang Kemin, acting chairman of the Political Rectification Committee, and the Hebei provincial government.

5 August 1935

The Japanese side suspected that Tao Shangming, the former administrative commissioner of Luanyu District, was involved in the assassination of Liu Zuozhou, and invited Tao to the military attache office of the Beiping Embassy on the same day to detain him.

6 August 1935

The Hebei Provincial Government discussed the case of Liu Zuozhou and decided to send personnel to investigate and strictly arrest the culprit. On the same day, Yin Rugeng visited Sakai, chief of staff of the North China Garrison Army, to discuss the case of Liu Zuozhou.

7 Aug 1935

Hebei Provincial Chairman Shang Zhen traveled from Baoding to Tianjin to apologize for Liu Zuozhou's case and state that the provincial government would "strictly order the arrest of culprits and eliminate the source of chaos." On the 12th, the Hebei Provincial Government ordered the Luanyu District Commissioner's Office to solve the case of Liu Zuozhou within a time limit.

The Hebei Provincial Government announced two measures for the aftermath of Liu Zuozhou's case:

(1) Appoint Li Fengyun, deputy captain of the theater security team, as the third chief captain.

(2) Allocate 1,000 yuan for Liu Zuozhou's funeral ceremonies.

12 August 1935

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a note to the Japanese embassy to protest at the unauthorized detention of Tao Shangming, a member of the National Committee of the Political Reorganization Committee, but the Japanese side did not reply. On the 17th, the Japanese side released Tao.

21 August 1285

In the evening, Li Zhenhua, who assassinated Liu Zuozhou and others, was arrested in Luan County. According to the confession, because he was removed from his post by Liu, he carried out the assassination with a grudge. On the 25th, Yin Rugeng went to Tianjin to report to Sakai, chief of staff of the Japanese North China Garrison Army, and others. (Memorabilia of the Historical Materials of the Republic of China· 21st ·Edition, edited by the Research Office of the History of the Republic of China, Institute of Modern History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, 1935 (24th Year of the Republic of China), Zhonghua Book Company, June 1981 edition, quoted from "The Waves", pp. 205-206)

The War History Office of the Research Institute of the Japan Defense Agency wrote "The First Volume of the First Volume of the Army Operational History of the China Incident": "On August 4 of this year (referring to August 4, 1935), Liu Zuozhou, the chief of the theater security team, was assassinated, and the captain of the Tangshan garrison, Wenjing Qinguang Major Zuozuo, was also wounded. On November 16, Qin Dechun, chairman of Chahar Province, was transferred to the mayor of Beiping, and Xiao Zhenying was appointed chairman of Chahar Province. (Written by the War History Office of the Research Institute of the Defense Agency of Japan, translated by Tian Qizhi, Song Shaobai and Guo Linxiao, "The First Volume of the Army Combat History of the Chinese Incident", Zhonghua Book Company, October 1979 edition, quoted from "Shocking Waves", p. 206)

The above account refers to the author of this "Biography" as "Gao Zhiyuan", which may even cause some confusion in reading. In fact, before the anti-Japanese riots in eastern Hebei, he had always been under the name of "Gao Xiangyun", such as fleeing to Li Guizhi Vegetable Garden after assassinating Liu, that is, introducing himself "I am Gao Xiangyun". Gao Xiangyun became "Gao Zhiyuan", which was at the beginning of the outbreak of the anti-Japanese uprising in eastern Hebei. Dong Shirui remembered, on July 9, 1938, after Gao Xiangyun and Wang Zhonghua launched an uprising, Gao Xiangyun changed his name to "Gao Zhiyuan", "At that time, Gao Zhiyuan had not yet called Gao Xiangyun, and the name was loud on our land. (Dong Turui, "Gao Zhiyuan, Wang Zhonghua Led Our Riot", see "Soul System Yidong", p. 53)
