The name Wang Lihong was closely associated with "Tsinghua University", "Outstanding Student" and "Promising Future".
However, in 1993, she made a decision that shocked everyone: to marry an African student and go to Uganda to live.
From the bustling metropolis of Beijing to the impoverished places of Africa, from the envied high-achieving students to the new immigrants who adapt to foreign cultures, Wang Lihong's life trajectory seems to have been pressed the "reset" button.
But what miracle did she create 26 years later?
Wang Lihong's story does not begin in Africa, but goes back to her days in Tsinghua Garden. At that time, she was the best in the eyes of everyone. Not only is his academic performance outstanding, but he also shines in campus cultural activities.
Who would have thought that such a promising talented woman from Tsinghua University would completely change the trajectory of her life because of an ordinary campus activity.
On that day, Wang Lihong participated in an international exchange activity organized by the school. In the crowd, an international student from Africa caught her eye. The young man named Suma spoke fluently in Chinese, which surprised all the Chinese students present.
Wang Lihong was attracted by his talent and enthusiasm, and the two quickly became friends.
With the deepening of the relationship, the relationship between Wang Lihong and Suma gradually warmed up. However, this transnational romance was not all smooth sailing. In China in the 90s of the 20th century, people were still generally conservative about such relations.
Wang Lihong's parents were furious when they learned about it, and firmly opposed their daughter being with an African. The people around her also questioned her choice, believing that she was ruining her future.
In the face of many obstacles, Wang Lihong showed extraordinary determination. She trusts her own judgment and believes that sincere feelings can transcend skin color and borders.
Despite her parents' opposition, she chose to stick with her decision.
After completing her studies in 1996, Wang Lihong made a surprising decision: to go to Africa with Suma. The moment the plane landed in Uganda, Wang Lihong knew that she had turned a new page in her life.
However, the reality is far more difficult than imagined. When I first arrived in Uganda, culture shock followed. The first thing that caught Wang Lihong off guard was the local polygamy.
On the first day she walked into Suma's house, she was introduced to ten "mothers-in-law". This is undoubtedly a huge shock for Wang Lihong, who grew up in China.
In addition, the local eating habits also made it difficult for Wang Lihong to adapt for a while. She had to struggle to accept the traditional food of "matokee" and learn to grasp it with her hands.
The backward living conditions made this girl from Beijing feel overwhelmed.
However, Wang Lihong was not knocked down by these difficulties. She struggled to adapt to her new surroundings and learn the local language and customs. Suma also gave her great support and understanding, and worked hard to change her family's perception of Wang Lihong, which made her feel warm and empowered.
In this way, Wang Lihong integrated into the new life step by step. Although it is far from the superior conditions she once had in Beijing, she has found her own happiness.
In a foreign country, she and Suma formed their own small family, welcomed two lovely children, and gradually got their lives on the right track.
Just when Wang Lihong thought that her life was finally on the right track, fate gave her a heavy blow again. In 2008, a bad news plunged the family into great grief.
Wang Lihong and Suma's young son, Fahedi, suddenly contracted malaria. Domestically, this disease could have been easily cured, but in Uganda, where medical conditions are poor, it has become a killer.
Seeing her child struggling in pain, but unable to do anything, this feeling almost completely crushed Wang Lihong. When Emperor Fahei finally passed away, Wang Lihong felt that her heart was also broken.
She washed her face with tears day and night, and her whole person fell into deep self-blame and sadness.
However, at this darkest moment, a flame ignited in Wang Lihong's heart. She began to reflect: Why is it that in the 21st century, a child would lose his life because of such a simple disease? The answer is obvious: the lack of education has led to the backwardness of the land.
In the midst of her grief, Wang Lihong came up with an idea: why not change the status quo through education? She decided to start a school to provide quality education to local children and give them the opportunity to change their own destiny and the future of the land.
Just do it, Wang Lihong started her education career. However, the road to opening a school has not been smooth. First she needed a suitable venue.
After searching around, she eventually chose to acquire a full-time school with a chaotic management.
After taking over, Wang Lihong found that the situation was even worse than she imagined. The school's hardware facilities are outdated, the teaching staff is uneven, and the students' attitudes towards learning are uneven.
In the face of all this, Wang Lihong knew that a difficult rectification was inevitable.
She started with the basics. First of all, she has a set of strict rules and regulations, requiring teachers to be punctual and prepare for classes. She mercilessly dismissed teachers who were lazy.
At the same time, she also pays attention to improving the quality of teachers, often organizes training activities, and introduces advanced teaching methods.
Wang Lihong also has her own set of management methods for students. She knows that in order to change the fate of these children, she must first change their attitude towards learning. She often tells students about her experience at Tsinghua Park to stimulate their enthusiasm for learning.
At the same time, she also introduced many Chinese educational concepts, such as emphasizing diligence and respecting teachers.
In addition to basic education, Wang Lihong also introduced Chinese culture and Chinese language teaching into the curriculum. She hopes that in this way, students will not only learn knowledge, but also build a bridge for cultural exchanges between China and Africa.
In this way, Wang Lihong devoted all her energy to the construction of this school with the thought of her deceased son. She firmly believes that through education, she can change the fate of more children and stop them from losing the chance to live because of poverty and backwardness.
After four years of unremitting efforts, the school has finally undergone earth-shaking changes. The quality of teaching has improved dramatically, and the students' enthusiasm for learning has never been higher. More and more parents are coming to this school in the hope that their children will attend this school.
Wang Lihong's education career has gradually taken root in the land of Africa.
Wang Lihong's school is like a seed that quietly takes root on the soil of Uganda. Over time, the school's influence began to grow gradually.
Every year, more than 100 outstanding students graduate here. Some of these students continue their studies, and some enter the workforce to make their mark in various industries.
Their success not only changed their own destiny, but also gave hope to the entire community.
The school's success soon attracted the attention of the local government and the educational community. Wang Lihong's educational philosophy and management methods have become a role model for Uganda's education community to learn from.
She is often invited to share her experience with other schools and educational institutions, and has been an important force in promoting education in Uganda.
However, Wang's influence is not limited to Uganda. Her story began to attract the attention of the international community. One day she received an unexpected phone call from a reporter from the United Kingdom Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) who wanted to interview her.
The story of this woman from China, who has been working silently in Africa for many years and using education to change the water and soil, deeply touched this reporter.
After the interview, Wang Lihong's story made headlines on the BBC's website. This report has attracted widespread attention and let more people know about this Chinese woman who struggles in a foreign country.

The agreement includes the development of international Chinese language teaching courses and the organization of online exchanges between teachers and students of the two universities. This not only opened a window to China for Wang Lihong's students, but also built a new bridge for China-Africa educational exchanges.
In December of the same year, Wang Lihong also received a special invitation. CCTV is preparing a special program called "One Belt, One Road", and they invited Wang Lihong to participate in the recording.
In the program, Wang Lihong shared her experience and educational philosophy with a wider audience. She said affectionately: "I hope that through education, I can not only change the fate of the children here, but also contribute to China-Africa friendship."
