If the "immersive" movie-going experience really exists, then "Dune" should be the most immersive film in these years.
I don't know if you remember the scene where the "Sorority" tested Paul leaving, in the huge darkness, drizzling rain, blowing dark and damp wind, the leader of the Sorority walked to the huge flying machine, and Paul's mother shrank behind in a tight robe.
In fact, because of the darkness, I couldn't tell what it was, but it didn't prevent me from feeling a little chilly and wanting to tighten my clothes.
This is the biggest feeling I have in "Dune", when the protagonists walk, it seems that I am also walking, and when the protagonists are in a trance, I am also in a trance.

In this film, the soundtrack artist Hans Zimmer is online almost entirely, which is also obviously different from his past scoring style. The entire film's graphics, soundtrack, and sound effects are all unified in one world at all times.

The so-called character relationships and emotions
To be honest, the first time I watched "Dune", the characters did not leave too many traces in my heart, the main energy was to see the picture, and the understanding of the original book was limited to a few settings.
But the second time I looked at it, the feeling was very strong.
Especially the role of Paul's mother, after knowing her identity, and then watching each scene reminiscing about her, there will be more feelings.
For example, in the opening ceremony, everyone was watching the envoy, and Mother Paul was watching the members of the Sorority. If you're in the IMAX room, you can clearly see Rebecca struggling to suppress the shivers on her face.
Villeneuve shows his great skill in photographing people.
In the most heartbreaking scene in the film, Oscar Isaac plays Duke Reto, stripped naked and lying naked on his back in a suspended chair, his entire body in a posture like a sculpture from the ancient Roman period.
And the line of sight began from him, the oblique diagonal of the picture, on a long table with almost no head in sight, sitting the Duke of Haknon, who was feasting heavily.

But in the "Long Table" composition, Haknán appears even smaller than Duke Leto.
And although Duke Reto was like a fish on the board, he also looked more dignified than the Duke of Haknon, who was completely dominated by the desire of the tongue and grabbed the food directly with his hands and swallowed like a beast.
When Hakenan floats in front of Duke Reto and tries to get close to Duke Reto to hear what he is saying, the camera deliberately gives a picture of him opening the shield, even in the face of such a naked person, he still does not forget to protect himself.
Just such a simple action fully shows the character's cowardly, treacherous and suspicious personality characteristics.
Oscar Isaac is even more brilliant in this scene, his whole body is unable to move, only with his eyes and expressions. When the tears slid down his face, they were extremely moving.

"Dune" really does not belong to the type of strong plot from the plot point of view, and entering this world requires the help of specific conditions, and this specific condition is the theater.
