The shortcomings of the Sony a9III camera
Many bird friends are very interested in equipment, and today Lao Niu came to talk about Sony A93.
Some people are cranky and wonder if Lao Niu will take the camera company's publicity fee or something, that's really too much. Lao Niu's Bull Demon King Westward Manji is not even a trumpet, how can there be such a thing as a turn on Lao Niu.
Sony A93 pre-shooting and up to 120 frames per second of high-speed continuous shooting, and what kind of global shutter, these are known to everyone, naturally there is no need to be verbose, there is too much to say, there is indeed a suspicion of advertising, and the old cow did not take advertising money, so I won't talk about this.
What Lao Niu wants to say is that in fact, Sony A93 bird's eye tracking is still not perfect, and Lao Niu doesn't have so many cameras in his hands, so he can't compare with others. It can only be said that the bird's eye tracking of Sony A93 requires the bird to be close enough, and the second is to have enough light intensity for bird's eye tracking to capture.
Also, if the bird flies horizontally, the bird's eye tracking will be effective. However, even if the bird is flying horizontally, if the background is too cluttered, or if the bird flies behind the tree and then flies out, in general, it will be out of focus, that is, the bird's eye tracking fails.
In addition, if the bird is taking off head-on, the distance changes too quickly, and the bird's eye tracking will fail. On the contrary, the bird flies away with the camera on its back, and it is the same.
At this time, it is necessary to press the AF-ON button with your thumb at the same time to keep the focus on, so that you can not lose focus as much as possible. Even so, if the focal length changes too much, it is easy to get out of focus.
In addition, Sony A93 is used, and Lao Niu feels that the noise is obvious under high sensitivity. This is also a problem, if the light is too dark or the background is too dark, the bird map noise is noticeable, and you need to use software to reduce the noise.
There is another problem, mirrorless cameras are very power-hungry, probably mainly because mirrorless cameras use an electronic viewfinder, that is, even if you don't press the shutter, the electronic viewfinder is working, unlike the SLR camera when you don't press the shutter, the optical viewfinder basically doesn't consume power. This is a real problem in high-temperature environments, such as going to a hot place to shoot bee-eaters, and the battery drains too quickly. This is somewhat unexpected by some bird friends, so the battery should be prepared more, or bring a charger, or bring a power bank, which is very necessary.
In addition, there is another problem that is not a problem, that is, the Sony A93 continuous shooting speed is too fast, one is that you may need to reduce the continuous shooting speed in advance, and cancel the RAW format shooting, so as to avoid quickly filling up the camera cache space, and the later highlights cannot be captured at high speed. The second is that high-speed continuous shooting will soon fill up the memory card, you need to prepare a few more high-speed memory cards, and maybe even like an old cow, as much as possible to carry the computer to export the photos at any time.
In addition, after the Sony A93 adds a teleconverter, the focusing speed will be reduced, which can be regarded as a disadvantage.
In addition, the pixels of Sony A93 are indeed much lower than those of Sony A1, and there is still a problem with cropping after shooting birds from a distance.
Of course, many of the problems aren't unique to the Sony A93. Most mirrorless cameras have similar problems. Therefore, this is not the meaning of which camera is black, but just to tell you what I have experienced when I use it, and don't think that which camera is perfect.
There is no perfect camera, any camera will always have such and such problems, this may be the strategy of those camera companies, otherwise, how can other cameras be sold!
Having said that, the pre-shooting and high-speed continuous shooting of the mirrorless camera did allow Lao Niu to capture a lot of wonderful moments, which is beyond doubt.
The above is Lao Niu's sharing today, what insights do you have on camera performance, welcome to leave a message to discuss, thank you!
