This year's No. 3 typhoon "Gemei" was generated on the afternoon of July 20 in the ocean east of the Philippines, and strengthened into a typhoon on the evening of the 22nd, and at 5 o'clock this morning (23rd), its center was located on the ocean surface about 710 kilometers east-southeast of Yilan County, Taiwan Province, mainland China, that is, 19.2 degrees north latitude and 125.2 degrees east longitude, the maximum wind near the center was 13 (40 m / s), the minimum pressure at the center was 960 hPa, and the radius of the seven-level wind circle was 250-300 kilometers. The radius of the ten-level wind circle is 100-150 kilometers, and the radius of the twelve-level wind circle is 50 kilometers.
It is expected that "Gemei" will move northward to northwest at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour, continue to strengthen in intensity, and the strongest can reach strong typhoon or super typhoon (50-58 m/s, 15-17), gradually approaching the eastern coast of Taiwan Island, and will make landfall on the north-central coast of Taiwan Island on the evening of the 24th (strong typhoon scale, 14-15 scale, 42-48 m/s). After that, it will pass through Taiwan Island and make landfall along the coast from central Fujian to southern Zhejiang from the afternoon to the evening of the 25th (typhoon or strong typhoon, 12-14, 33-42 m/s).

At 05 o'clock today, the center of Typhoon No. 3 "Gemei" (typhoon level) is located about 1192 kilometers southeast of Xiangshan East over the ocean east of Luzon Island in the Philippines (19.2 °N, 125.2 °E, 13 degrees, 960 hPa), and it is expected to move northward at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour, gradually increasing in intensity, and gradually approaching the coast of northeast Taiwan Island. On the 24th, the wind strength in the southern part of the East China Sea increased from 8~10 to 10~12; The coastal sea surface wind in our county strengthened to 7~9 on the 24th, and 9~11 on the 25th.
