1. Cervical cancer and HPV
Cervical cancer is the "second biggest killer" of women's health globally and on the mainland, after breast cancer. 2. Why should I get vaccinated?
99% of cervical cancers are caused by persistent high-risk HPV infection. Cervical cancer is currently the only cancer that can be effectively prevented with HPV vaccine, and its efficacy and safety have been proven worldwide, and have been recommended and popularized by the World Health Organization (WHO).
It often takes years from HPV infection to cervical cancer. The age of 9 to 14 is the "golden age" for HPV vaccination, which can induce higher antibody levels, provide the best protection, and is most effective when given before being exposed to the HPV virus or having sex.
Girls aged 9-14 years old can be vaccinated with bivalent and 9-valent HPV vaccines with 2 doses of immunization schedule (at least 6 months between 2 doses), the first dose in the summer vacation, and the last dose in the winter vacation 6 months later, which can not only increase protection, but also not delay school and vacation arrangements.
3. How do I make an appointment for vaccination?
The "Minhang Jieyi" APP and WeChat mini-program have opened a green appointment channel for special vaccination, and before July 31, 14 community health service centers in Minhang District will open special vaccination clinics to provide extended services on Saturdays.
