Case review
At about 21 o'clock on July 13, the anti-fraud police of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Heyang County Public Security Bureau received 110 instructions, and Ms. Wang in the jurisdiction was suffering from telecommunication fraud. After receiving the police, the police immediately rushed to Ms. Wang's home, persuaded her, and successfully intercepted more than 100,000 yuan.
Upon inquiry, it was learned that Ms. Wang received a call from a customer service person claiming to be "Million Medical Insurance", who claimed that the "Million Medical Insurance" purchased by Ms. Wang was about to expire and that if she did not cancel it, she would automatically make a large deduction. Ms. Wang believed it to be true, and under the guidance of "customer service", she sent key information such as bank card number and password to the other party, and then the other party tried to transfer 100,000 yuan by herself The transaction verification code SMS was also sent to Ms. Wang's mobile phone. At this critical moment, the police rushed to Ms. Wang's home, blocked their contact, and promptly opened the "police-bank linkage" to report the loss of Ms. Wang's bank card. At the same time, the police added "customer service" calls to the blacklist, deleted remote screen sharing software, and publicized real fraud cases and fraud methods to Ms. Wang.
"Fortunately, thanks to your arrival in time, my 100,000 yuan was able to be saved, which is our family's hard-earned money" Recalling the scene just now, Ms. Wang had palpitations, and said that in the future, she would learn more about the prevention of telecommunication network fraud, increase vigilance, and build a "iron fence" against fraud.
Police Tips:
Anyone who claims that they need to cancel their subscriptions, cancel "insurance", "VIP membership" and other businesses, otherwise they will be automatically deducted is a fraud.
Anyone who asks to download video conferencing software and turn on screen sharing in the name of remote business is a scam.
When you receive a call from someone claiming to be an insurance company, a bank, or a website customer service, don't be blindly gullible, and be sure to verify and confirm with multiple parties.
If you encounter a mobile phone function or payment business that you don't understand, you can ask your relatives and friends around you to inform them of the specific information of the strange call, so that relatives and friends can help judge the authenticity.
