On July 27, 2024, Nanjing Golden Eagle Art Museum will present a new mid-year exhibition "Food, Objects and Everyday Life". This exhibition is a profound exploration and artistic interpretation of the aesthetics of daily life, leading the audience to embark on an artistic journey full of sensory impact and deep thinking from a novel and unique perspective.
Bringing together more than 10 domestic and foreign contemporary artists, some of their works were exhibited for the first time in China
This exhibition brings together 12 artists from home and abroad to transform familiar daily life, inject new vitality into those objects and phenomena from our daily life, and open up unexpected space for interpretation. Inspired by ·Henri Lefebvre's Critique of Everyday Life (1947), the exhibition explores the "interconnectedness" of personal and social life, the interplay between the internal and external lives of people, especially in urban environments, how people live in everyday objects, or rather with them, which has always been the theme of art.

Discover the extraordinary everyday and start a summer feast for the senses
The exhibition is divided into two chapters: the former challenges the audience's inherent perception of "things" through the artist's re-examination of everyday objects, and stimulates new understandings and perceptions; The latter explores the multiple meanings of food as a basic element of life, from ontology to life to agricultural structure, presenting the close connection between food and human beings in an all-round way. In the chapter "Objects", the audience will see how artists place ordinary objects in specific spaces of the museum, giving them a sense of sacredness, provoking deep reflections on the nature of objects and the meaning of their existence. In the "Food" section, the artists innovate ways to integrate food into their artistic creations, challenging the traditional exhibition format and allowing the audience to experience the power of food in all aspects of the visual and even spiritual level.
"Food, Objects and Everyday Life" is not only a visual feast, but also a profound discussion about the philosophy of life. The exhibition takes everyday life as an object of observation and transforms it into art itself. Through reinterpretation, re-expression, re-renewal, re-movement, re-representation, and re-presence, people are encouraged to rethink their initial reactions to everyday life.
