The new Jingpingshan Bridge is a key project for Guilin to build a world-class tourist city and implement the "smooth and slow congestion" project, which will carry the functions of "traffic avenue" and "economic avenue" in the south and east of Guilin urban area.
Located in the southeast of the city, across the Li River, the Jingpingshan Bridge is one of the important passages connecting Xiangshan District and Qixing District. In 2017, the Laojing Bottle Mountain Bridge was found to have major safety hazards during regular inspections; In 2020, the Guilin Municipal Government approved the demolition and reconstruction of the original site of the Jingpingshan Bridge. In May 2021, the construction of a temporary steel temporary bridge began (the picture can be found on May 11, 2021); In January 2022, the main project of the bridge started; In July of the same year, the blasting and demolition of the old bridge was completed, and the main construction of the new Jingpingshan Bridge was started at the same time.

The main bridge of the new Jingpingshan Bridge is 320 meters long, the bridge section is 50 meters wide, two-way six lanes, the planned bridge design speed is 60 kilometers per hour, and motorized lanes and sidewalks are set up to realize the separation of machine and non-aircraft, and the public will travel more safely and smoothly in the future.
